I've noticed since the patch that the game sometimes takes quite a while to understand what I have selected in terms of updating the UI for what I can produce. For example, when you select a factory, the UI normally updates to show the units available from that factory and then you build them. Mine is sometimes taking up to 10 seconds to update no matter how many times I click the unit. I was playing just now, and I had my factory selected, so I made some ants, then selected my fabber and the factory build options still showed. When I pressed the hotkey for building something from the fabber options, the hotkey for tank activated, which meant I could queue up tanks in the middle of nowhere with my fabber (had the little while schematic hovering on my screen as you do with buildings). I was sad to see the fabbers were unable to actually build the tanks. Has anyone else experienced this? The only mods I have enabled are system sharing and pastats. I run the game on quite a slow machine as well, so I always have to play in windowed mode.
Try installing the KO deferred mod, it helps some. https://forums.uberent.com/threads/rel-ko-deferred-or-lightspeed-ui-ahead.58294/ Lots of people encounter this with differing amounts of severity. I used to encounter it a lot some months ago. But apparently it's turning into an issue once again.
Nah that didn't help.. Sometimes it is even my very first factory, so it's not like it only happens where there is a lot going on in the game.
