I was just hoping for someone to clarify on this. When I first heard about the Galactic War, I figured it would be like a 4x game (such as the Total War series) with units being carried over between battles and things being constructed in the metagame, etc. But now I'm worried it's just going to be like every system you conquer is an isolated skirmish, and the galactic map is just a dynamic level select menu. Does anyone have any better intel than me? PS. I already know the features listed on the kickstarter, but they seem vague on this stuff. (Forgive me if this has been discussed before. I did search every thread with "Galactic War" in the title.)
Well, if I'm lucky one of the devs might offer some glimmer of hope. A simple "we would love to do it that way but no promises" would be more than enough to satisfy me.
So far, the clearest details are "maps big enough for 40 players" and "motherfucking asteroids". :lol: One might assume that battles take place inside a "sector", and that the galactic war map spans multiple sectors. From how it was described, the closest analogue would be something like TotalA boneyards.
We simply aren't focused on the metagame this early in development so any answers are going to have to wait.
