I was playing yesterday night and I had a level 2 firebase hacked at level 2. So 2.2 I then see another support hacking my firebase a while later, thinking: 'Oh good, he's hacking my turret back to 2.2, it's almost out of hack.' But to my chagrin, he hacked it down to 2.1 which then had me rushing over there to rehack it to level 2. I realize it was probably a newbie mistake... but it got me thinking someone could grief you like that, or unintentionally mess you up. Hacking your 2.3 down to 2.1 On the other side of the argument, if I hadn't been watching my firebase, or died before I got to it, a .1 hack is better then no hack. Should friendly supports be able to downgrade your hack? Or should a downgrade have to wait until the higher hack runs out? I'm kind of split on this.
I remember there was a rumor going around that hacking steals turret kills, and that might have been what he was trying to do.
Ideally, maybe they could only downgrade hack once when there is less than 25% left on the higher hack, or something similar to that.
the first couple weeks this game was out, that happened to me practically every game. i think as was stated it was a noob move. possibly the hack-kill thing. i definitely agree that only a hack of equal or greater value should be able to be applied. and even then that should only be able to be applied below 50% hack. this could be seen as both training wheels for newbies and a way to make every hack count for more.
People have actually done this to me out of spite. Some guy was on the other team in the previous game, and I massacred every turret he built seconds after he built it. Once on my team, he told me he was gonna stop me from making anything good (I was a Support in this game). Confused as to how he was planning on doing that, I built Lazer Blazers as usual and hacked them both at level 2. Then I proceeded to continuously heal a Tank as he invaded the other team's base. When I returned, all my turrets were down to level 1. He kept level 1 hack for the duration of the game and would immediately re-hack anything I hacked at level 3 down to level 1.
Which is exactly what Liefglinde pointed out. I would like to see something done for this issue. But this is probably not even on the devs radar. And if it is, it's at the bottom of the list. It's not game breaking, and this doesn't happen often. Oh well, I'd rather they focus on more important things. Just thought I'd chime in with my 2 cents.
