http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRqVtQb53mo If anyone is interested in seeing the PC Beta in action, I posted the tutorial with commentary this morning. I also posted this thread in the Gameplay videos section but I want to make sure anyone wanting to see what the beta is like can see some gameplay. This forum is pretty hopping, so here we go.
Great introduction video! I'm also glad it was not the Crossfire game I played earlier where I died like an idiot all the time...
Thanks, I appreciate the feedback. I'm a pretty small fry on YouTube but I've been around for about a year and a half. I recently purged my channel of old projects and videos because I was getting bogged down with too many series going at once. I also felt like some of my uploads were pretty unprofessional (especially my earliest stuff when my audio quality was sub-par). Also, I've stopped using copyrighted music without permission because it's a big no-no if you want to get a partnership with YouTube down the road. Unfortunately, MNC isn't going to get the kind of views that Call of Duty videos in particular get but CoD dominates the commentary scene. If any of you sub to machinima/machinima respawn, you'll see a somewhat ridiculous lack of game variety. Most people are interested in posting games that get views and right now that means Black Ops. My hope is that I can grow my channel by obtaining subscribers that are more interested in a variety of gaming content. I think this hinges largely on my worth as a commentator. I'll be the first to admit, I'm not a comedian (I do have my moments) but I put a lot of effort into what I do and I think viewers can see that. If anyone has constructive criticism, be sure to speak your mind. Anyway, I apologize for rambling about myself. You can expect to see more MNC on the PC from me in the near future. I think I'll do a Blitz next with a class other than assault. Again, thanks for the feedback.
I've got a YouTube channel in my sig, and was thinking of giving commentary a whirl this weekend since I won't be gaming any. Ill check out your channel after work this evening.
I've actually already watched all of your videos Hudson . I came across these forums because I found your YouTube channel. I picked up MNC on the arcade a bit less than a week ago. I quickly took a liking to the Tank and found your videos while looking for solid tank gameplay. Anyway, I appreciate the interest. Unfortunately, a lot of people expect a certain type of content from YouTubers. They want you to specialize in one very specific thing. If you post call of duty videos, they don't want to see anything but CoD videos. That's all well and fine if other people can stand making 200 CoD commentaries a year but I like being more varied. Not all of it will be for everyone. My first main project when I started was a Let's Play of Digimon World, a unique psx-era RPG (my current LPW is actually a remake of my original which was taken down). I'd estimate about 70-80% of my 500ish subscribers only want to see Digimon-related content. Those subscribers likely don't click on videos that I post outside of DW. Anyway, the reality is that I am only passionate about the game in so far as it is a nostalgic, fun game to play through once every few years. On the other hand, I understand people that might watch me for MNC may not care for my Let's Plays. And that's perfectly fine. I would hope my commentary piques the interest of viewers enough to watch varied content but I'm sure that will come with time.
I recorded my first few matches of Crossfire today. Rendering a game now so I'll have it uploaded in a few hours. Most of the scores are nothing spectacular but that's to be expected when adjusting to mouse and keyboard (and I had only played MNC on 360 for less than a week before that). I'll be sure to keep a pretty regular flow of MNC gameplay as long as I have things to talk about.
