Fojib's Guide To Mastering The Assault Skills

Hey everyone heres my guide to mastering the assault skills hope you enjoy and learn some thing

This guide is not your ordinary guide. Its a combination of this thread and the video posted up. I will be using both as references so try to watch the entire video as you read this.

Also note everything in this video can be and was done with only using passive and bomb upgraded to level 2 leaving jetpack and charge at level 1

Section 1: Rookie

- 0:06 At the beginning of the video you will notice that the first thing I show you is activating your jetpack at the height of your jump. This is essential for just about everything that the assault does. If you have trouble and find it difficult to perform this step then I highly recommend maybe switching to another class since its not going to get any easier.

- 0:21 Tapping the a button while using the jetpack is going save your life more times then you can count. Whether its a jackback/gunner slamming you off the map or being thrown off the map from a grapple. It always seems possible to fly back as long as you tap fast enough. (Helpful tip: the faster you tap the longer you fly)

- 0:55 The final tip for the jetpack is to use it at certain angles of the map to gain higher ground. Using this tactic can save you the trouble of having to bomb jump or finding a longer path.


Section 2: Advanced

- 2:00 In my opinion the bomb jump is the single most important/basic advanced tactic you should learn. You can easily reach parts of the map you wouldnt normally be able to reach as an assault, you dont have to spend extra 50 dollars on lifts, and you move at an incredible speed. (Helpful tip: the further you are from the bombs radius the less damage you receive.)

- 3:04 Charge Boosting can a little frustrating at times. If your jumps arent precise it could slow you down more then you originally planned. But with great risk comes great rewards and this is a perfect example of it. Using only 1 skill you can easily glide yourself across the map gaining map control faster then any other class. There are many places you can use this tactic that a lot of people (including myself) havent thought of yet

- 3:30 Bomb charge is a less used tactic but that doesnt mean its useless. Even though your using both bomb and charge to go the same distance as you could with a normal bomb jump, you go faster and your stealthier to where you dont go flying up in the air for everyone to see.

- 3:52 Tired of pesky snipers getting headshots on you while youre trying to press the annihilator or ejectors? Bomb cancellation will save you from this more times then you can count and its super humiliating for them when they dont kill you. The trick is also to place the bomb in the right position to send you in the right direction. You dont want to press the annihilator then send yourself flying towards a team full of angry pros.

Section 3: Pro

(Note: If you cant do everything in the advanced section (excluding bomb cancellation) you might not want to try the pro section. Its going to be a combination of all 3 tips so my best advice is to practice the advanced section before you attempt pro)

- 4:39 Bomb Boosting is the only name I could come up with for what your about to see. It combines the Bomb charge, and Charge Boosting. This tactic is the fastest and furthest way for an assault to travel. It takes precision timing combined with perfect button combinations. You use this when their money ball goes down and I guarantee that you could keep the money ball down solo against some of best players around.

If you would like me to make an assassin guide to using skills post a reply or if the frame rate is just too bad I wont bother, but I have learned a secret that the assassin can do that I havent seen people use yet

Nice guide. That video is brutal though.

Alright I know the video frame rate is just god awful but I found a way better way of recording hopefully ill figure out how to upload and get a new video up soon

Bomb Boosting is definitely helpful, but I find that Bomb Jumping is just as effective.

Nice vid, i take it you run gold armour, what other perks do you use?

Gold - Armor
Silver - Rate of Fire
Bronze -Accuracy

Its been my same build since the game first came out.

Yeah thats pretty much what ive been running since day one too, i do however like to use rof/armour/acc but having no gold armour really gets me caught out by gunners.

I like this guide a lot, not telling me a bunch of stuff that everyone knows like what all of the skills do.

FYI the speed endorsement makes you faster :ugeek:
