Just got thru my first online match. Pretty awesome for an Alpha state, way to go Uber. My System: A10-5700 APU ATI 6870 12 GB RAM Win 8 x64 Pro w/Media Center Just a few thoughts: 1) an FPS counter built in would be nice 2) Walls don't seem to work (or I dunno how to use em). I tried shift dragging, planting one and then one down a ways from another, not sure how the wall is supposed to form. 3) Maybe some sort of build menu grouping? Took me a bit to realize that the land fabricator had extra items besides what the commander could build, same for air units. Maybe group it out by Extractors, Factories, Defensive, and Intel or something, so that it is easier to spot extra items within the menus. Also perhaps make it more obvious that these exist to the average player (not sure how). 4) Steam overlay already part of the game is nice and unexpected. Was playing and then noticed a steam popup in game and sure enough, Shift-Tab works to bring me into the overlay, neat. 5) Noticing lag when zooming in and out and moving the camera around the planet. Not sure if this is my system or the servers (not sure what FPS I am getting, and don't feel like loading something like FRAPS on my system, just yet anyways). Otherwise great job and looking forward to playing much much more!
1, Press the "P" Key 2, Place walls like bollards. They don't "auto connect". 3, UI and the HUD are still very raw. Try not to expect too much of them yet. They're being worked on. 4, Yea, it is neat. 5, Attach a DxDaig to your post any we can tell you if it's your system or not.
So as far as walls, just place them all over? They don't form an intermediary wall structure between the endpoints? (would make the most sense to me). Fully understand on 3, just offering feedback. See attached for my dxdiag Can't wait to play a few more hours and post some more feedback! Seriously addicting game, can't wait for multi-planet games! Far more established than most Alpha's I have played in the past. Can't wait to find some bugs. :ugeek:
Walls and most other units for that matter are still very raw. Try not to expect too much of them yet. They're being worked on.
