Both the game and the pocket monster itself. Pocket Monster : Mewtwo I can beat Fire Red/Leaf Green's Elite Four by using him alone. Game : Crystal Crystal is arguably the best Pokemon game ever. Btw, the worst are : Diamond/Pearl/Platinum for obvious reasons. Pokemon Anime are for kids and nerds here in Japan!
I loved Silver...because that's when I caught my first 'shiny' - Nidoran. I now have a blue Nidoking. I thought leaf green was well made with all the extra areas & islands. That's enough waffling...my favourites - Leaf green & Snorlax.
This beast. Don't judge me, he's awesome. Favorite game would be Ruby and Sapphire, I enjoyed the different environments they experimented with.

Mr. Mime from the card game. Man I can't count the times I've played this trump card and totally shut down the big bad monsters and laugh deeply as I wear them down with double slap.

This is sooooo god damn tough. Tie between Gold and Emerald with Gold about to pull ahead. I'll post my fav Poke'mon after I go play through a few of the games and think about it some more.
The focus in Ruby/Sapphire is my favorite. I hate surfing everywhere but legendaries that make it goddamn rain/shine when they enter the field in a world with eco-terrorists who pretty much want to flood/dry the world? Sign me up, I want that Kyogre. As for a specific 'mon, I've always had a soft spot for Aggron even though he's weak to just about everything that's important. Jesus Christ, he's frigg'in made of solid rock and steel.
My Suicune plushy and mini figuirine on my desk say that Suicune is my favorite... Emerald was probably my favorite game. I liked the Platinum story, because it expanded on the rather boring D/P story with Giratina, but I played Emerald much more. B/W irritated me with the pokemon names. PatRAT? LilliPUP? PiDOVE? Gee, I wonder what animals they were based on.
^Thing is that another company did the translations this generation. Your feelings are not misplaced. Lucario is my favorite because he is a sweeping master and learn Dragon Pulse/Dark Pulse/Aura sphere/ Psychic. Can you say "Special Sweep"? Plus I like his design. Its between: Emerald(Expanded on R/S awesomeness) Black and white(Awesome World, cool pokemon, cool legendaries) and Crystal (Its like they gave you two games with an awesome final boss)
