Recently linked my game to Steam since I reinstalled windows. Now the steam version is SUPER laggy in Skirmish mode, single player, and multiplayer. 1/2 or 1/3 speed. Everything moves so slow even at beginning of the game. PC: AMD FX8350 4ghz, with 3gb GTX660, and 16gb of DDR3 1600 ram. Tested ram with memtest86 for 10.5 hours, no errors, so ram isn't messing up. The game is essentially unplayable in this state, after I spent hours trying to figure out how to re-download it after I wiped my computer (it had been installed since Kickstarter campaign and was running good for years). I tried minimum graphics settings. I tried even reducing resolution. Tried smaller maps. I tried restarting PC. I tried restarting Steam. I watched Resource Monitor, Task Manager, and Event Viewer for issues. Never went really above 50% ram, 50% CPU. Never came close to maxing either out. The game just runs slow. This is a fresh install of windows 10 with all my drivers up to date (graphics etc all updated, 100% for sure). It runs the same slowness even if I increase or decrease graphics. It really makes no difference what settings I use. Anyone have any ideas?
Is it equally as slow if you run it directly from your PC, bypassing Steam? Assuming it does, In Settings > Server, make sure Local Server Multi-threading is ON Then review Windows incompatible software https://wiki.palobby.com/wiki/Windows_Incompatible_Software If still having troubles: Get the latest PA client logs and server logs: https://support.planetaryannihilation.com/kb/faq.php?id=182 and System Info file: https://support.planetaryannihilation.com/kb/faq.php?id=212 And open a new ticket at https://support.planetaryannihilation.com/index.php
