[Error] Failed to unpack one or more files. Check log for details.

    The game worked just fine up until the last update. The launcher will check the manifest, then download, then crash upon extraction of one module (10/11 in my case). Re-installing and re-downloading does not help.

    Note: I do not want to "fix" this issue by launching through Steam.

    You have used the "Coherent process limiter" by that registry editing, the one SXX discovered, haven't you?

    If so, undo it. Go back to the post, find what it asked you to add and kindly remove it.

    Then it will work.

    There are other launchers that will work as well, like the GO launcher.

    EDIT: Oh wait, thats another problem entirely... But the GO launcher is still a suggestion.

    Thanks for suggesting the GO launcher, but ... nope. There's a certain treshold up to which I'm willing to do stuff in order to make the game run, but I just found @SXX 's thread on the GO launcher and I don't understand a single word of it (link).

    If you have one, please link an instruction on how to use the launcher for other users experiencing the same issue; I'll just wait for an "official" fix and not play PA in the meantime.

    Yeah this just happened to me...before a tourney. Great.

    Edit: If you have Steam, launch the game through there - it works

    I gave it another try (because I'm stubborn or impatient or both), deleted the cache, reinstalled the game ... same thing.

    The download / extraction will always crash at the same point:

    Can confirm that the Steam "fix" works ... but I'd like to play through the launcher.

    Deleting these files won't help ... after they are downloaded again - still same error message. I think (if i remeber right) these are the exact files reported before i completely uninstalled and reinstalled PA.

    So maybe these files are broken because redownloading them doesn't fix the problem - and i'm not alone with this prob!

    I have the same problem. I can't launch through Steam because I didn't get PA through Steam -- I bought it through the Kickstarter and downloaded it through Uber's own website.

    I agree that downloading and configuring a third-party launcher is not reasonable.

    I was realy looking forward to playing this game on my first free weekend in ages.
    I`m not an expert but tried all offered solutions in this thread for the past 3 days and failed.
    For 40 Euros I expected something playable...

    Also seeing the same problem. Deleted the entire PA directory and started from scratch. Problem remains. Frustrating!

    Same situation here - had planned time Sat and Sun, as a break for myself, and was really looking forward to playing all week, but haven't been able to play. Spent a lot of hours stalking the forum and following the suggestions, but no success. Really don't want to covert to STEAM, but I can't convert my key w/o contacting tech support since I bought it through the uber store.
