Hello all. I tried out MNC this weekend since it was free and I must say I enjoyed it quite a bit. I am considering buying, but I have only one concern. Since this game is not as popular as say TF2, I want to make sure that if I buy it there will be a good amount of players playing and games going on that I will have a lot of options. Sure, this weekend I had no problems finding games, but I am don't know how much of that was people just stopping in to play since it was free at the moment. Since the free time is done now, I don't want to buy it, go to play and see a pretty skimpy looking list of games to join. Any longer time players that can put my mind at ease about there being lots of players and games outside of this free weekend? Thanks.
The only way that you could really tell is to follow the stats of the game as the next few days go by. I noticed that today the amount of players peaked at ~8k, but who knows how that will continue. I will say that i've never had a problem finding a server to play on, and i normally play midnight - 4am GMT-5. This was even before the influx of weekenders. Hope to see you in the servers.
Umm, most people never have problems finding games. At the worst, during dead hours of the night, I had to join an empty server and wait for it to fill, but even then we got 3 guys on each team within 2 games and at times it was near full. There will be a lot of people posting here saying that this game has plenty of servers. So many, that if you don't like snipers or assassins, you should be able to find servers without them.
One thing I've noticed is that people hate playing alone. If you find an empty server and want to relax a bit, join it and play a round alone. Someone will find that server with one person and join you quickly. If no one joins within two rounds, just switch servers.
Even when only 200 people were playing in the middle of the night a while back, I still found servers under 100 ping. And my internet sucks.
Same here, I find enough server everytime I need one in germany (if only my dorm mates would not load so much pr0n that my ping goes up to 1000 sometimes ...)
I've never had difficulties finding a game with a ping less than 50. And I play during nights, days and whenever else. I think it varies between regions. I'm established in Europe though. Also, welcome
