First of all, this topic is somewhat nit-picky and as a result, should not be taken too seriously. But non the less, I think the topic is at least interesting enough to be brought up. Currently, when you have Intel(radar or vision) of a structure its icon and model are drawn. but when you have previously had intel of a structure only its model is drawn. I would argue that the icon for the structure should be drawn in both cases. The reason being is that it is still difficult to see structures when zoomed out and near impossible to differentiate them(Especially the smaller ones). It would make early game scouting easier(spotting a lone radar in a forest), and would in general make old intel more useful from a zoomed out position. (no longer would you have to zoom in to differentiate Laser towers, from Missile Towers) Now to be fair, this does give up the differentiation of when you have radar intel over something and when you do not. but I think there are better ways to do this, partially transparency, decreased saturation, etc... Thoughts?
I don't think this should change. Right now the icons that are labled in radar are just icons representing something is there with no details. Unit type or even size (except implied through spacing) is not shown in radar. These icons are much different from the ghosts, but you do get to know what the building is by zooming in, which i would say is an advantage over radar (radar in turn gets realtime troop positions) So no I don't think it should change cause it would imbalance radar. And it should never be icons for ghosts building type since they appear when they get in a units field of view. The system should stay how it is.
