edit, getting to the point: Mickey Cantor should at least mention that the game is nearly over. It would be great if he gave some kind of countdown. Especially when overtime is disabled, I think we need some kind of audio or visual countdown to the end of the match (other than the clocks in the base). I hate to keep making comparisons to TF2, but.. the end-of-game countdown is implemented very well there. It's informative and helps create some intense moments. Probably have a countdown to overtime, then another countdown to the end of overtime. If you try playing on a server without overtime, it's really disconcerting when the match just suddenly ends.
I suppose I could agree on this, but I tend to look at the clock a lot. I always play overtime and there is a clock, so I don't know if there is a clock when there is a server with "no overtime" running.
This has been discussed before to no end and instead of me re-typing how I feel I'll just link that thread. Basically it just doesn't fit into the theme of MNC. viewtopic.php?f=19&t=2556 Although I will agree something like a game clock up on the Annihilator could work.
I don't necessarily mean a timer in the HUD or anything Mickey Cantor commenting on how the match is about to end, maybe giving a 10-9-8-5-4-3-2-1 count seems like it would fit in perfectly. It's actually weird that he DOESN'T say anything about the game nearing an end.
I totally agree, that would make disabling overtime much more viable because for now it's kinda frustrating to have the match end out of nowhere if you didn't check the clock at spawn recently.
So let me get this right because you choose to disable a key part of the game you wish to be compensated as a way for the game not to end abruptly?
We don't have anything to compensate for people turning off Overtime. I agree it feels very abrupt right now but it's something we'll look at for an update.
even with overtime on, it would make sense for the announcer to announce when the game is near an end besides, countdowns are INTENSE! people love intense!
Well, I can imagine they have a lot of stuff to do and this isn't something that would affect me personally. The best and easiest solution for them (through an update) is to just have a bright red text or blue text pop up with the counter when it's within 10-30 seconds of ending.
Besides, go watch the LazeRazor commercial trailer: Mickey Cantor clearly says "Only 30 seconds to go and the Hotshots have won the game", so there's at least part of your new in-game announcements right there.
