I've searched around but I can not find it anywhere. I can use the keyboard shortcuts to select all combat/land/air/sea units that are on screen or anywhere, but how do I achieve these selections for a particular planet?

Also, when I have selected some units, they appear in the panel at the lower left of the screen. If I double click on a unit type in that panel, it selects all units of that type in the entire solar system. Is there a similar procedure to select all the units of that type on the current planet?

    Thanks.

If you double click on a unit or building, you'll select all units/buildings that are within your field of view.

I miss the sup com ctrl-a for air, ctrl-l for land and ctrl-n (I think) for navy army unit selection. Made it easy to send in everything of a certain type. Speaking of which, anyone else annoyed by the current combat fabber selection mode (in which they are selected along with combat units). Most of the time I end up grabbing combat fabbers that are assisting something.

There are quick select keys for air land and naval. They have obscure default keybinds though:

    'select all factories': 'shift+f1',
    'select all idle factories': 'shift+f2',
'select all factories on screen': 'shift+f3',
'select all idle factories on screen': 'shift+f4',
'select all combat units on screen': 'shift+f6',
    'select all combat units': 'ctrl+shift+f6',
'select all land combat units on screen': 'shift+f7',
'select all land combat units': 'ctrl+shift+f7',
'select all air combat units on screen': 'shift+f8',
'select all air combat units': 'ctrl+shift+f8',
'select all naval combat units on screen': 'shift+f9',
'select all naval combat units': 'ctrl+shift+f9'

You should be able to bind them to ctrl+a, ctrl+l, and ctrl+n if you want.

If you have extra buttons on your mouse, I really recommend setting one to "select all idle fabbers" and another to "select all idle factories".

YES, the shorts I needed! Though I suppose I should have sifted through the keyboard settings before throwing up a post here. Everything is evolving.

Something from Starcraft that would be nice is. CTRL + 1 you select some units to 1 group thats fine we have that. But when they are on another side of the planet. you have another group of you would like you add to that group.

You should be able to select a new group of units and shift + 1 to add them instantly to the CTRL + 1 group.

There isn't currently a keybind that does that. Really, the select all should be a 'select all on this planet'. The behavior will be fixed eventually...

I've often been surprised by the behavior... but I've also used screen zoom to fine-tune select-idle-fabbers.

A "Select all Combat Bots/Vehicles" could be useful. Currently I use Control Groups.
That and if Factories can be assigned to Control Groups and the units produced from them join that Control Group.
    And an infinite build queue.
    And sprinkles.
    And a pony.
    Pretty please!

Thank you for your response materdigital, but to be perfectly honest I am turned off even playing PA until this is resolved.

Is there a mod to accomplish this?

Can we get a keyboard command that selects all noncombat idle fabbers? & vice versa

While the forums are raving about unit cannons and gas giants I'm more concerned with basic playability.
