This tactic works well for me at least, last two games of mine I got a high KD as well as MVP and most earnings. Last two games: 33-2 ~4k earnings 21-3 ~3.5k earnings Custom Class? the custom class isn't needed, but it always helps. I use shield/health/speed health recovery can be exchanged for speed if you want. Once in the game upgrade skills A and B once, run around and kill a few people and or robots to gain some cash, then upgrade A and B again the rest of the way. Wasting money on the other two are pointless in my opinion unless you plan on deploying a lot and camping in one spot. After you have upgraded A and B fully, get some more cash and build at least 2 turrets around your base for some easy kills if anyone infiltrates. Next, run into their base, slowly, getting kill by kill and regenerating in between some kills. Once someone uses the annihilator attack the surrounding turrets and let the bots attack the defense of the enemy's money ball. One the money ball's defense is down, attack the ball until you get juice, use the juice and rape all of the surrounding enemy team that drop down/blast away with the Death Blossom and firegun. If you follow this safely/strategically I guarantee you can gain MVP and high scores/kd each game. Hope this guide helps some of you, and leave back tips/criticism, and best of luck playing! - Sam
You don't HAVE to ignore it, but this guide does completely find without even upgrading it once -- that being said, you can improve on the guide if you want the game to last longer to get more KD/$$$ I just find the need to put kids at shame by losing so fast.
I only really play one strtegy with Tank, and that involves spamming product grenades like there's no tomorrow, so I can't really imagine not using them. Doesn't help that Tank is really all I play either.
There are plenty of different strategies for the character, I was just posting the one that works best for me. I just don't find the need for them really, since this build works great for me without even needing to use them. I use them occasionally, but I also HARDLY EVER get hit with them when I run around.
needs moar deth blosum on a more serious note, I've noticed these strategies are assuming a lot from the skill of the other players. In my experience, any sane or competent person who sees a tank just back pedals and shoots and that'll be the end of any plan you have. Hey, I play tank too, but he really suffers at midrange and needs a contingency plan. I guess it's assumed that you should "live to fight another day" in your guide if things go bad, but anything else. The guide or tactic as it is assumes your enemies are thick and just charge directly into your jet gun.
Guess you missed my whole part about upgrading the B skill all the way. If you see an enemy but is out of range of the Jetfuel Gun, hit B and it will charge towards them to bring you closer; and if you hit them(assuming it's upgraded all the way) it will knock them down bringing your chances of success to a high.
Hmmm, I think tanks have the most diverse playstyle. Many advocate product bombs, and I certainly subscribe to the charge 'n' spin philosophy. Personally, I feel the tank depends on his skills a little too much. He needs his skills to compliment the damage of his jet gun because I feel it doesn't do enough damage to neutralize a target before said target gets funny ideas, like a high powered grapple skill like the assault or a shotgun to the face. Oh, on a side note, my brain is used to called skills by their names. Took me a while to wrap my head around B Skill. Anyways, I guess simply farming bots and pushing them for cash is a big focus that I guess should even be bolded. With such dependence on skills, the tank is gonna have to be very mindful of his cash flow in order to compete against other pros who can get away with level 2 skills.
My best games are all done as a tank, and personally this is what I do every game: Armour-health-rate of fire Upgrade product and charge at the start, push one side slowly with the bots. situation a: you come across enemies Use cover and try and lure them towards you, standing still for a while will inevitably make one walk around the corner. Shoot-charge-spin to take anything bar a tank out. Lazerazor and grenade III are great for knocking enemies off for cheap kills. You'll get to 150 pretty quickly but save it until you get into a close situation. Pressing up dpad, down, then A will net you a full heal for free, and can be a life saver in certain situations in early game. Other notes: Assassins are stupid, charge them and spin for a free kill. Situation b: enemy sniper! These give you a hard time, but if they havn't spotted you there is hope! A standard sniper takes 3 gauss rifle shots, and 9 times out of 10 they'll move just as the second hits them. Launch the product grenade at them, and fire the gauss just before it hits. There is a good chance the second gauss will hit before they move, and net you the kill. Situation c: relatively clear path to the base push your bots forward, take out the gremlins then the blackjacks as you go, you can almost net 50% juice by the time you get to the base. If the enemy h ave set up lazer turrets, take them down by using the bots as fodder, if not proceed to the RockIt. A single blackjack will give you enough time to product grenade and flame a turret to take it down. You then just work on stopping their bots respawning as yours bring the sheilds down on the moneyball. If the enemy team start respawning, don't worry about getting out of there. Dealing with other characters. Sniper: See tactic B. With gold armour and level 3 passive you CAN survive a headshot, but get the hell out of there before the second comes along. Assassin: See tactic A Support: Probably the biggest bane for your character, turrets eat through you and air strikes can be deadly. Best bet is to stick close to walls till you get close, and use the product to stun the turret while you take out the support. Afterwards you can take the firebase down at your leisure. Assault: Fairly easy to kill as a tank. At level 3 your charge+death blossom beats their charge, and product grenade is good to blind them if you find yourself in a losing situation. Gunner: Not as much of a problem as everyone makes out. Level 3 charge would mean you only lose at that finicky mid to low range. You're close enough to get shredded apart by their gun, but far enough away to not charging them. In that situation, run. Very close range quickly charge to knock them down, and finish them that way. long range use the product to blind them and the gauss to take them down. Other tanks: These will always give you a hard time. As always, level 3 charge gives you a great advantage. Those moments as they get back up will give you the damage advantage. Always always stick to walls, tank is deadly if they don't know you are there immediately. They can even pull the opposite, taking opponents out even when they have the upper hand. Charge 3 beats most things. Against a jackbot Product 3 combined with either long range gauss or bunny hopping close range will take it out before it can get far. You'll soon start to find you can take on multiple of the 'lighter' classes at once, even a gunner+support are possible if you do everything correct. By combining bot destruction, turret destruction and general player harassment easily nets me a good 2k more money than the second best player in the game. This allows for more juices for general over the top destruction, or to build extra turrets when the enemies push back. If an enemy juices, you're generally screwed. If there is a ledge nearby attempt to ram them off, if not go for the rarely used gauss grapple. Its knockback range is so incredible, that one time I sent a juiced support out of the arena from inside Grenade IIIs dome. In a laggy game, the jet gun is heavily compromised. As such, either back away and fire, forcing the hit, or aim just ahead of where they are walking. Otherwise, you'll do no damage at all. Finally, I pretty much only use deploy when the enemy base is being destroyed and i have juice saved up. Infinite ammo on the money ball helps when you get a nice hp refill from the juicing. Uh... thats all the info I have on tanks i've gained. Sorry for the wall of text, but I had the urge to add my tactics. the 50-1 game earnt me 7.1k before winning bonus, and didn't go to overtime.
I actually do quite a bit of the same tactics when fighting other players, with the exception of a few strategy changes - but overall similar style.
of course haha, however you could rush and destroy with any character once you get used to them at least I could
