[DUPLICATE] [BUG] issue with password standards

on your web site I can use the '~" in my passwords, in PA alpha, I can not use this character when entering my password, as its reserved for console. thus i can not play.

Solution is to change my password of course. but maybe this character needs to be prohibited when making an account.


EDIT: tagged it [BUG] as per posting standards, but maybe there should be a tag for minor design issues, its not really a bug

could not find a way to change my password, however , pretending you lost your password does work in letting you recover your account.

Right now, the "Lost account" is the only way. We'll get a password change option in the my account page soon!

Try pressing alt + 126 on the numpad, maybe that will work

Ah, yes.. that will work. I also asked the engineer who did the front end UI to make sure text field entry turns modal so you don't get hotkeys when entering text.

yes, I was going to suggest just disabling hot keys while entering the text field. We should be encouraging people to use special characters.

Ironically, using alt-codes on the num pad was a non option for me , my keyboard does not have a num-pad, got myself a compact gamer keyboard. That was the first thing i thought of however. doh!
