Draft Tournament Rules & Sportsmanship

    It's all fun and games in privates, but for these i feel we need some guidelines and boundaries, particularly for disconnects, freezes, or glitches like spawn-striking, invincible firebases, etc.

    What i have in mind so far (not final, input needed by other captains and Wildman's commissioner status):


    DISCONNECTION NEUTRAL GROUND
    If at any point a player from either team disconnects or the host freezes/kills the lobby with both balls up, restart the match. i dont care how one sided it looks, we have all witnessed FAR too many times a match 180 from sneaky gremlins, a clutch anni, or the assault/gunner making his way to the juice machine and saving his team from a spawn trap. Even if you have the upper hand and your man disconnects, it is void, do not continue to play on because it is not a "free play" where if u continue and get the ball down and win u will accept it because role reverse, if they turn it around and destroy you, you would have wanted the restart.

    DISCONNECTS WITH A BALL DOWN:
    If the team with the enemy's ball down loses a member to connection failure, they have the right to try to win. If the defending team can get the ball back up, the game is void.

    If the defending team loses a member with the ball down or the host crashes, since 90% of the time ball down means game, it is up to the captains to reach a mutual agreement. We have been playing these privates for a long time and we all know the difference between a sure thing of constant harassment and people alternating juices, versus the defending team with TOTAL map control and the offensive team struggling like all hell to barely scrap together a tap here or there. Yes, i know anything can happen, but i truly feel a ball down situation calls for a different ruling, so captains, please show the sportsmanship and make the honest call. If an agreement cannot be reached, than the match is unfortunately void and someone is a ****, we are policing ourselves so that is that.

    GLITCHES AND ILLEGAL EXPLOITS

    I dont care if it was the difference between winning and losing, or your team was 1 bullet away from a sure win, if you INTENTIONALLY spawn strike, attack any other way inside the spawn, or INTENTIONALLY use the firebase glitch (it is marginal possibility this can happen by accident, particularly in a hectic moment at LazorRazor) the victim's team captain has the right to replay the match (if he loses). Again, lets try to just not have this happen.



    This is roughly what i have in mind so far, captains add your thoughts, opinions, or additional suggestions please.

    Trying to think about what appens if the host is laggy. If you can tell that both teams are laggy (randomly falling off the map, lunges and smokebombing not working, can't headshot people in ice traps etc.) then the game should be restarted and both teams should mutaully agree on a different host

    Flying out of ice traps is the only glitch that wil be allowed. We are used to this happening for a long time now, so I guess it's okay to carry on flying out of ice traps.

    No spawn killing

    No exploits

    I strongely advise that if you have juice and your class can do a lot of damage to the moneyball, then you should mainly go for the ball. What I don't want to see is the support on the spawn ring killing people as they leave the spawn room. If you do this then you will have to have your sub replace you for the next match. The ball is down, you should do what you think will end the game the quickest (e.g if the tank has juice and there are 4 people close by, he can death blossom them a few times. He cannot, however, wait on the spawn ring and kill people as they leave).

    Just one of each class per game. Pretty obvious one.

    since the forums have been pretty active lately for recent topics, bumping this kind of as a reminder of how to act in PM's. i am not personally offended by some of the bs that has been going on lately, even guilty of laughing when it happens, but it pisses some people off so im on teapot's side when i say i dont like seeing it happen because it discourages some people from playing and ruins a good time, so just get it all out in pubs and please stop doing this stupid sh!t in privates. thanks

    allowing multiples of the same class is not about strategy its about guessing what will they double on and a guessing game of picking a lineup to counter it, then one team may change a lineup to counter that, or change classes mid game, etc etc. restricting it to a mandatory 1 per class just makes the most sense to avoid extra bs

    No. Once you pick your class, your stick with it, even if you accidentaly pick default Gunner :oops:

    Do that and you'll be fine in Private Matches. And I don't mean the literal term, since you can eat all the sausage you want, I mean the figurative term.

    of this i did not know!

    i have a gold/silver armor sniper depending on how aggressive the opponent assault is, guess i'll be sticking to silver from now on and hoping for the best.

    I don't know if you can switch to the same class but different build. I was assuming that LMP was talking about the whole teaming switching to assault :oops:

    I have 1 of every class now incase i'm stuck with one (I've been stuck with every class now :( ) so I don't know if you can switch builds. Try it next pm.

    IMO, Gold Armor is better than Gold RoF on Sniper.

    I STRONGLY disagree with class restrictions. Multiples of one class is totally valid. If they give up one class, punish them for it by exploiting their weakness.
    I say only allow the flying out of ice traps glitch, nothing else (spawn strikes, invisible firebase).
    I don't have a problem with juicing on players or prolonged spawn killing. Allow the community to pass judgment on those who exhibit poor sportsmanship.
    If you're worried about lag, do a lag test on spunky or something so both teams can agree on the host.

    it is not like how it used to be. a double assault in place of the tank is absolutely brutal if your team's assassin is good enough vs a traditional lineup of 6 because you are just completely outslayed for map control and the extra assault is a nightmare on your support, sniper, and tank. the reason it will be 1 per class is because then the way to counter this is to run an extra assault yourself, or an extra gunner, then that team runs an extra sniper or something depending on the map, or two assassins, etc etc. while you think the tank will be able to do more bot work, that really isnt happening if hes getting spawn trapped because of the extra firepower the opposing team has making it impossible for your gunner to do anything. so to avoid the while guessing game or who is bringing what to the lineup, we just skip all that and make it about who has the best traditional lineup and gameplay versus whos lineup is more class advantageous
