Dox or Scamper?

In one of the recent patches, no idea which one, the name for scamper has been changed to Dox. I have already searched the forums and found no articles that discuss this. So, I want to know what all of you think. I personally like Scamper better.

I'd call him cookie. Because cookie's are tasty.

Hmm...How about we call them chocolate chips and the stampers are cookies?

Wouldn't that make PA an RTS version of Cookie clicker?

I believe Dox is the handle of one of the Uber developers. And there are too many units starting with 'S' at the moment, so I'm ok with the name change.

Scamper fitted well and as much as it maligns me to do so I'm trying to adjust my casts to call them dox. I just hope it doesn't change again xD

Honestly, I thought that 'scamper' was a more fitting name for them. They're small, nippy, don't do too much damage by themselves. It's a cute-sounding name, a bit like 'peewee'.

Dox sounds a bit too hardcore for them. Maybe the advanced bots could be called 'dox' instead?

Agreed, Dox is a heavy, hard sounding word that better suits t2 bots.

Having all names start with S is a bit boring, but "Scamper" was one of the names I really liked. Dox is just hard to pronounce, how for example would you say the plural of the word?

Doxen? like the plural of Ox?
Doxes? like the plural of Fox?

Those two plurals have a horrible ring to them.

Or the plural of Dox could be Dox, much like sheep and sheep

How would you differentiate from one or multiple units then? Having to specify the quantity of the unit through means of typing "A single dox" or "Multiple dox" is just a mouth full. Besides it would be grammatically wrong.

It really isn't as big a problem as you think it is Ghostflux. I'm sure people would be happy to say Doxes (like boxes).

I really did like the name Scamper though. It'd be great if they brought it back.

It's not that I really find this a big problem. My perspective is just, if you're going to change something, atleast change it to something better, which this in my opinion isn't.

I think the plural of Dox should be Doxen, like Oxen, Boxen and Foxen.

I agree, Slammer should be renamed to Dox and the current Dox should be set to Scamper. It makes more sense. Can we call a large group of Doxen a stampede then?

Dox Bots = DosBox?

I'm sure he is... but the auditory resemblance between 'DosBox' and 'Dox Bots' is uncanny.
Maybe just happy coincidence.

I would think it's more similar to 'dots.'
Also, I reaaaally like scamper. It's a cute name for those little things.
