Hi all, I'm posting this in a new thread in the hopes that it won't be overlooked. I've been putting quite a bit of time into getting a MNC dedicated server web admin tool up and working. Despite some quirks in the web admin API, I believe the tool is pretty stable now and this is why I hope some people will help me test it more. The current stage of development is a beta stage, as I am not sure it is truly stable enough for a proper release. And this is why I look at you! Please help me test the tool and iron out the last few creases. What are the risks in testing? Well, to be honest, the web API has some flaws, one major flaw being that if a server request is made at the wrong point in time, the MNC dedicated server might hang. I've done my best to circumvent this issue in my admin tool, but I would like to be sure. So, the risks in helping me test the tool? The worst, worst, worst case scenario is that your server hangs and you will have to kill and re-start it. That's the worst that can happen, really. But as far as I can tell, this should no longer occur. But, to be certain of this, the tool will have to be tested properly. I have a hosted version running on http://detiege.nl/mnc/ But for anyone interested in a downloadable package, I also have a repository on github: https://github.com/Vaynen/MNC-Dedicated-Server-Web-Admin More details on the tool can be found in the readme: https://github.com/Vaynen/MNC-Dedicated-Server-Web-Admin/blob/master/source/readme.txt A big thank you in advance for anyone helping me test the tool. Any and all feedback is appreciated!
This would have been great if the game wasn't this dead anymore, there are only a handfull of people that run servers and even less that will ever use such tools. I've build a webadmin interface myself but it has not been used other then myself. That project is on hold now since the SMNC announcement. I Hope SMNC will still allow for user run dedicated servers. so that it wouldn't put us "out of business" so to speak. great to finally see another person developing tools for this game. BTW: to stop the server from freezing while using the API. don't let the interface query during migrations. that will fix the issue.
Yeah, I hear what you're saying, Racquemis. The moment SMNC was announced I realized it would overshadow this whole venture. But, I started this project a while back and was determined to finish it. And so I did. Could not have done it without your help! It's a shame the tools will most likely not be used by anyone but ourselves. I will see SMNC when it comes, don't really have an opinion of it either way. Hopefully there will be some possibility of creating tools for it, but I think it's quite understandable that Uber's priorities will lie elsewhere in more, let's say, profitable areas
