I posted some screenshots in the thread earlier, so I thought, "Why not advertise this game a bit?" Don't Starve is a survival roguelike where the main objective is the game is to dress your character so he can save the lady from the dragon. No it's obviously to not starve.It's an indie game made by Klei Entertainment, and supporting indie developers is always nice. The game has quite more depth than simply not dying of hunger, because there are other things that would gladly make you quite dead. Every day you have to survive through the night, firstly by making sure you don't succumb to hunger, and secondly making sure you have a source of light so you don't get killed by the Grue. The longest I've survived is 42 days after freezing to death, but there are others who are near there 300th day, probably more. The game recently released an update that allows for quite a nice amount of tweaking, such as increasing the amount of pigs that spawn. Very useful if you find the game too hard, or too easy in some's case. Here's what you'll usually see when you first start a world, probably not the exact same world, but general hud and such. The game is very fun with high replayability. As a matter of fact, chances are you will die before the end of the first week, but that's to be expected. As you survive longer, you will unlock more characters that you can choose from when you start another world. They are all relatively the same, but they do differ in their perks, such as Willow. You can get the game here. It is currently in a very constantly updated beta, and you can get it for 15 bucks. This will obviously unlock the game and all future updates, along with the full game when it comes out. It is playable through Steam and through Chrome as an app. You can also get the demo through Chrome here, so not giving it a shot is really unfair.
hope this thread gets more attention than the one I made, cuz it's a good game. It's worth the money Fireflyjenkins and I spent on it :3
You made a thread? I didn't use to browse offtopic that often so it might have been a while ago. I threw in the pictures to make it look spiffy. Edit: Also, you're a ****. This is why I don't post anything game related in here. You and your damn guilt trips. ;_;
I made a thread a really long time ago, but it didn't particularly interest anyone. Also I can't guilt trip you when idk what you did. Plus you said so I assumed. For real though, people, it's worth the money. Also you get two copies of the game when you buy it.
Fair enough, let's keep it like that I've had the game for a while, but after quite a few updates, the game has really gotten my attention. I'm moving soon, and the game is rather light, so I'll be able to play it while other intensive games would have raped my battery. Either way, I really love this game, and want ******* everyone to have it. Seriously, I keep pestering my brother to play it because it's just so awesome. I could talk about this game for ******* hours, but no one I know has it.
From what I've seen it looks like some random flash arcade game. $15 is too much for it in my opinion.
Definitely not a random flash arcade game. Binding of Isaac was around $15? bucks when it came out. Also, if a flash game can keep you invested for a large amount of hours, then it's worth $15 bucks. Edit: Why don't you try the demo out? The size is tiny as sin, so you'd only be wasting a bit of your time.
That's a terrible reason. The only reason it's "popular" is because of the shitton of Let's Players on Youtube. They'll play ******* anything if enough people ask them. I only heard of it from... you know I don't really remember where I saw it, probably from Steam news. Seriously, I think the total game is less than 200 mbs, the demo can't be that big. Just give it one shot.
if they still have the 2for1 deal, it's half that. math. I assume FTL isn't your cup of tea either - another good game.
You still get a second copy to gift, afaik. (thanks Rab!) Game's fun, and addicting once you get a hang of it. 11,19 for two copies is reasonable considering how much you time you can end up putting into the game.
I believe you get two copies up until it's released. I've spent all morning playing this game, only stopping because I died, the game has a high dollar to hour ratio.
For the record you get 4 copies of the game with the 2for1 deal. 2 serials for Google Play and 2 serials for Steam. I might post something about the game later
Damn, that's nice. So at this time, you can get 4 games for 15 bucks. I mean how is that not a good deal, I'm sure you could trade the 2 Steam copies for something.
Even though this world started out kinda crappy, I'm almost positive I can survive the winter. There's two spider dens below me, and I'm thinking of making a tooth trap and trying to kill the Spider Queen. The last time I did it, I had about 4 pigs following me around but I can't find a single pig, which blows. I had to set up my base in the center of a Beefalo field, which has it benefits, but I forgot to put on the beefalo hat one night when returning home during mating season, and got killed. Thank god for those pig altar things.
Idk. The game starts off too slow for me. I feel like most of the time I am just sitting there in the dark running circles around my fire waiting for it to be day again.
