Does it affect how fast a planet rotates around the sun, or capture ability of nearby objects? Or is just just a number for the how many engines you need to propel it? Also does it effect the kind of biomes you end up with or how much metal the planet has or their configuration?

    Thanks!

I don't think the system editor is very 'sophisticated' right now.

In terms of density, it means the metal density. You can type in values for some extremely crazy results too.

Right now biome scale does not work

From what I understood, OP is speaking about planet mass, not metal density.

There is no such thing as Planet Density in the system editor.

Planet Mass is currently only used to control what orbits what. This is useful if you want things to orbit a central planet and still be close to other objects.
E.g. A 10,000 Mass central planet with two 5,000 Mass moons. The moons could be placed close to each other without one snapping into an orbit of the other.

Metal Density controls how many discrete Metal Spots there are, as opposed to clusters of Metal Spots (I think? :p). Or it might control how close spots are?

    Biome Scale does nothing yet.

I hope the editor gets a lot more configurable.
