Just a small question, are there going to be any discounts or sales on this game? I really want to buy this but 90$ is a bit too much for me, and im not really planning to wait until the full game releases.

I doubt there will be discounts until after the game is officially released. If anything I imagine the game would get more expensive, considering you aren't taking a risk pre-ordering or backing the game.

But then again I'm not Uber

You don't need to buy the 90$ version, the 40$ is the full game too.

If the game got a discount before it went into full retail you can bet a large majority of the backers who paid more will be quite annoyed, I doubt they will do any sales until the release.

Regional discounts would be nice at least in steam version. 90$ in USA or Europe are not quite the same as 90$ in Brazil, Russia or China.

True, but it still pisses people off. It used to be fairly common for games to be priced numerically the same in dollars and pounds (sterling), meaning that folks here in the UK were a little cheesed off at a country dependant price hike. And that's not even touching on what those poor Australians have to suffer (or so I'm lead to believe). Plus, it's a bit hard to justify different prices when your primary publication channel is digital, with negligible marginal production and distribution costs per unit sold.

I sure PA got lot of backers from Russia (include me and two my friends) who paid 90$.
Currently Uber already have enough players for alpha testing and bug hunting.

Uber also pay for servers alpha/beta testers playing on, so, so there is no point to sell game cheaper to anyone. If we talk about 90$ it's mean there will be re-sales, so Uber need to set region-lock which is only worst publishers use.

So cheaper versions are unfair for everybody who already paid for game, it's won't help developers because people who want give feedback can find 90$ and it's probably make game a lot of negative PR.

Having sales before game is even finished sounds absurd to me. If you are not willing to pay 90$ for it, then you must wait I'm afraid. It's matter of just couple months after all and the game is not at very enjoyable state until beta or release.

If they release with enough time before Christmas that they are able to get all the "release" sales at full price before the holiday season really gets going then we might see a modest Christmas sale. But I kinda doubt it.

My bet would be a summer sale on Steam next year as a likely candidate. If you can stand to wait that long that is.

Thanks for answering everybody, your right, people would get pissed about it. But i still think 90$ is alot of money. Maybe i'll buy the beta version, but im not quite sure about that either. Depends on the release date ;)

It will probably get the usual 10% discount on steam during the week or two after it is 'officially' released and a 50-70% one day/week sales sporadically after that. It will also show up in holiday sales for quite some time after that.

Basically, (and unless I am mistaken) Steam can decide when to and at what rate they can discount games at their own leisure, and the developer/publisher have very little, if any say in it.

    Everyone else, shush...

Yes, this game will be having discouts down from $90. Well, they aren't discounts, but the game is much cheaper than $90.

The alpha testing access is $90. The beta testing access is $60. The final release is $40. Also, prices may go down during alpha, like half way though alpha it may go down to $75, it has been hinted at. Even so, this game isn't even "fun to play" for $90, so don't get it if you are looking for a game to actually play.

Honestly, if you have no interest in the game's build, how the engine loads all the individual assets, how flexible those assets are to mod, how the game slowly adds features and fixes bugs, ect... then I absolutely encourage you to save your money and wait. Honestly, I supported this game in Kickstarter for $100, and I can marginally stomache it's gameplay. You literally sometimes have to babystep click one inch at a time to make bots follow a path between a narrow walkway.

The gameplay itself right now is rudamentary, unreliable, and not user friendly at all. That part isn't worth $20 right now. On release, the game will be worth $40 though.

Why wouldn't you wait? Honest question.

I'm pretty sure it's the exact opposite of this.

We have a huge community already making mods for the game. They are preparing to have their mods ready upon the very day of release.

We have people associated with Supreme Commander who want to bug and balance test (in fear of the game turning into Supreme Commander 2).

We have people long awaiting a modern RTS game and are looking to get an early look into it. I am sort of one of those, I am not nearly brushed up enough on the nanolathing commander type unit rts gameplay. I am very clanky, chew over every click, don't multitask well. Nonetheless, I have played the other games, and it would be best that this game be balanced proper if anything.

Lots of people have lots of interests. I would recommend people play other games ready today if they were looking for uninterrupted full-on gameplay in the right-now.
