What did you like and dislike about it? Was there anything well-done in that game that might give us good ideas/suggestions for PA? I think the variety of AI styles was amazing, and the scouting system was really cool.
An interesting game, AI War. The only winning strategy is not to play. Seriously though... that game was well designed to accept one tactic, and one tactic only. And it was usually the type of tactic that would get you killed in any real RTS. You want me to fly past HOW MANY systems and NOT blow them up because that will make them STRONGER? Say what? I must have played 10-15 games out and still never found the "right" way to do it.
I played it and didnt really enjoy it much. Its a noble first attempt to catch the BSG wind for a start up indy but gameplay felt like a bit of a hotch potch which didnt come together for me. When it comes to space games I was raised on games like Pax Imperia ED and Master of Orion 1+2 which allow you to design ships. The cookie cutter ships in AI War just did not do it for me, plus the instant take over ships were a totally different "magic" and graphical design theme from the rest of the game, which clashed and broke the suspension on my wagon of disbelief which was already under quite a lot of strain! If you are asking how I want AI wars to influence PA the answer is not at all.
