OK, I feel silly asking this, but here goes.... I'm curious to look through the code that controls the galactic war game and see how much can be modified, but I'm at a loss as to where to find any of the data files. I looked through the directory where steam installed the game and didn't see anything in any of those folders. I read a bunch of forum threads and didn't find an answer either. I'm an experienced C++ programmer and graphic designer, I took classes on java and html back in college so I'm sure I can accomplish something, though I haven't written any code in a few years. Last programming I did was for iOS back before my son was born. I've got an idea for making some changes to the galactic war game, its a neat concept as a replacement for a single player campaign, but I've played through a couple rounds of it now and its more often frustrating than fun. Anyhow, I've seen quite a few threads from newcomers and you folks seem really helpful, so I thought I would ask.
If you can find the media directory (should be in the steam directory I guess, I don't use steam), everything moddable is in there. The files for the galactic war are in media/ui/main/game/galactic_war/
