Hi, Due to the recent customization given to us by uber, I was thinking Perhaps it would be a good idea to tell them now what would be a red line or too much from the people who will get the customization. This way we might be able to avoid what happened to tf2 a few suggestions from me : Silly hats that have nothing to do with the game will be bad crates of course :< a drop system a trading system anything that will distract you too long from the game I think items should stay cosmetic
I agree that the changes should stay cosmetic. We have endorsements to fiddle around with customizing Pros and they work like a charm. What I would like is the option to display custom decals on a Pros armor, something like this maybe: There should be an option not to suppress them though. I could totally imagine having a small pet (kitten, puppy) in the menus that points out new protags instead of Bullseye. The Gunner totally needs a small kitten! And I want a cigar for the Tank if the ESRB doesn't frown on that kind of thing. But you were asking what we don't want. I think we can do without crates and keys. I don't have a problem with paying for extra content but it shouldn't turn into a lottery. And since we don't have double items and stuff we don't want we wouldn't need a trading system either.
Giving uber ideas for stuff is good too Idea how to give the gunner a kitty, Whenever you taunt with the mortar the gunner pulls out a small kitten instead and strokes him instead, YOU MESS WITH MY FUZZY BALL YOU'LL BE CRAB FAT BROTHER Also, why are there no protags related to the moneyball?
As long as they also give a command to disable them/force render the default you can add whatever junk you want. As far as I'm concerned, "customization" is a waste of time and resources, adding absolutely nothing of value to the game (much the contrary). Maps and gamemodes are the real deal of value for a game. Then again, I'm also painfully aware the majority of people, and consequently customers, are simple minded rubes, who will gladly fork over cash and playtime if you wave shiny tacky and utterly pointless crap in front of their faces, so this whole thing might be inevitable. In which case, do whatever, just give us a command or option to simply force render the default models and I'm good.
*hits Caliostro over the head with his new Gunner ammo belt* It's not a waste of time imo. We will hopefully get a shiny map editor for MNC and maybe Uber can take the best community maps and add them in a DLC. But yeah, more maps are always great! Gamemodes can be a problem if they split the online community. Crossfire is way more interesting than TDM and the like, it's basically MNC's calling card. Additional gamemodes for singleplayer would be welcome though.
