So the premise is this: Create a new class. Whats their personality? Whats their skills? What weapons do they have? How do you picture them playing and changing the game as a whole? For the record, I'm not asking for any of these ideas to be added to the game. I just want a FOR FUN discussion. So if you want to create a class based on Cloud Strife from Final Fantasy 7, go for it. I'd rather see classes ideas that aren't super op ideas but would feasibly be able to be put in the game. But since this is all hypothetical silly nonsense, have fun with it. Going with the "cloud strife" idea I'd like to see a class that wields a broadsword and shield. He'd be sort of a big bearded scotsman, loud and boisterous about his indestructability. His broad sword weapon would be sort of a sweeping attack, gives him more range than the assassin, a large area of attack (as in, he can hit multiple enemies with one swing.) however it has a slow swing speed. (he has a lunge just like the assassin, but half the range.) His shield is a more unique item however. Its a defensive item. It has a strong grapple attack but no actual firing attack. However while holds down the fire button he holds the shield in front of him and moves slower (sort of like how the gunner moves slower when he has his minigun spun up even if not firing.) It reduces damage from frontal attacks by 20% AND builds up juice based on the damage he takes while blocking. His skills are: A dash(like assault/tank) however it can only be performed on the ground. And when he connects with a target it does some AOE damage to targets around him. A beserker buff, while on it increases damage dealt/taken and at max level also increases his crit chance A ringout type grapple attack. Passive rank 2: increases health regen and movement speed Passive Rank 3: Increases max health, adds fire effect to his sword swing. I kinda imagine him like a cross between the tank and the assassin. He is built to soak up damage and push bot lanes, he also works well with support healing him while he uses his shield to generate juice. His movement speed is higher than anyone EXCEPT a dashing assassin, who beats him by far. However when the assassin is NOT dashing (and the beserker has rank 2 on his passive) he moves faster than her, but he also has NO long range attacks (made up for by his ability to soak up more damage and use that damage to generate juice.) Thoughts? (P.S. once again I'm not asking for this to be added, this is merely a hypothetical for fun discussion.)
That's difficult to put on here. Especially if you want to keep it balanced. They've almost covered everything you would want or need in a class with the ones they've set up. Maybe a winged character like an angel or a demon depending if your hotshot or icemen. He would have low armor and high mobility and be very easy to spot because of a shiny aura. He/she could be permanently flying and have only close range attacks like a whip or a chain. For his secondary, it could be like a cross/pentagram that debuffs speed or accuracy. Strength depending on how close he is to the player when aiming cursed relic. For his blue skill I would imagine a diving tactic. Sort of a swoop down and a grapple taking pros into the air and at the third level has a few seconds to fly them around or maybe have a toss added in. His red skill could be like an explosion of feathers or fire instantly teleporting him 5-10 feet depending on the level of the skill and momentarily giving him/her cover. Yellow skill could be like an armor buff that greatly reduces damage. Like gives you 400% extra HP but gives you 25-75% damage reduction depending on the level. Passive could give you mobility and change your aestetic look giving you a lighter looking armor for your first level. The final level would be a health regen boost and give you a whip/chain instead of your short range sword. My 40 cents.
Only problem with that is you can't grapple them then! I wouldn't mind seeing another class that has jets like the Assault.
Air Grapples would be an interesting but ultimately situational ability for a class to have. Like if they had a grapple that could be used on the ground OR in the air. That would make them rather unique since noone else can air grapple.
