Hi, was hoping this issue was fixed from the base game but apparently not so ive decided to make a thread about it. it appears my games decides to stop responding and crash or just straight up crashes to desktop at what appears to be random times. it can be before planet loads, 10 mins in or perhaps 30 mins in etc, needless to say its very annoying. its very frequent in galactic war so much that I don't actually touch that feature. I use a AMD fx8350 CPU & R9285 GPU - thought id mention it in case its a known amd specific issue? would love some help or ideas on how to solve it, thanks in advance Edit : this is for TITANS ..... ignore the fact this maybe in the wrong forum Edit#2 just tried to play again so i could recreate the issue, Ive uploaded the log from the userdata/....etc location
There seem to be two graphics cards in your DxDiag.txt. Do you by any change have Crossfire enabled? Could you try it without it? There's also a list of software known to cause PA crashes. You can find it here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/233250/discussions/2/558751813508748383/ Also, there was another player a while back that was able to solve seemingly random crashed by updating the chipset drivers for the motherboard. You might want to give that a try as well.
I have 2 monitors not 2 gpus , its also not the monitor causing issues as ive played with just one on and it still crashes. drivers are all up to date so its not a driver thing.
Ah, you're right. I missed the Windows 10 part, so drivers kind of have to be up to date. Did you check the list of incompatible software? And..., this may sound weird, but could you try unplugging you USB head set? In the past the Afterglow headset managed to create crashes in the CoherentUI part of PA, which is the part responsible for drawing the UI. And I'm seeing a lot of CoherentUI_Host.exe crashes in your DxDiag.txt.
actually yea that problem sounds familiar to me..... kinda wish it was fixed by now EDIT : yea headset was causing the crashing once usb removed it works perfect now
Doh, yeah, I had hoped that bug was fixed too. I remember they were investigating this a while back and were looking for crash reports. Could you check the PA logs to see if you have any of those? The PA logs are the ones in the log subdirectory (relative to where you found the server.txt ones). They look like PA-2015-.....txt. If a log contains a crash, it should contain a link like http://crashes.uberent.com/report/index/<bunch of letter and numbers> at the very end. Could you post those links here? It should help Uber finally track this one down, I hope.
Hmm, that's too bad... @mkrater : I realize you guys must be insanely busy right now, but do remember whatever happened to the Afterglow USB headset bug causing crashes?
Ah, so you did: https://forums.uberent.com/threads/headset-causing-crashes-issue.67114/ Guess it's a really tricky one.
