Because I thought that I wasn't playing enough galactic war, so I went and fought 2 battles. but on the 2nd one, it froze half way through. I tried again, but this time, I got the low-res static bug which forced me to quit the game and load it up again. on the 3rd time, it crashed again, half way through. the 4th and final time, it crashed once again, half way through. Also, it was a medium galaxy on normal against orange in the system Biansai. does anyone have a fix? Edit: I'm getting new crashes now, involving the chronocam when going back in the game. instead of going back, it freezes, goes back (for this issue) to the system editor where I was building a system and crashes.
What OS are you using? If Windows, please post a DxDiag.txt (Press <Win>+R, type "dxdiag", press "Save All Information..." and upload here). If Mac or Linux, what graphics card do you use, what are the driver versions and how much memory does your computer have?
What's (win)? if im getting it right, it opened the program run, so I tried typing dxdiag but it said there was no thing that it could find.
Click the start button, type run, press enter, type dxdiag, press enter, click save all information and upload here.
Yeah, sorry. With <Win>, I meant the key on your keyboard with the Windows-logo, but any of the other suggestions mentioned above work too.
Often problems can be found in that file, but in this case everything seems fine to me. Do you happen to use any software from this list? http://steamcommunity.com/app/233250/discussions/2/558751813508748383/
Your Nvidia driver could use an update: Code: Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti Driver Version: 9.18.13.4465 Driver Date/Size: 11/3/2014 17:04:30, 19966344 bytes The newest Nvidia driver was released about 2 weeks after the date of your current driver, so here is the link to the Nvidia website: http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverResults.aspx/79891/en-us
Any chance you using some wireless headset that not connected at moment? There was some nasty crash that was never appropriately confirmed as fixed.
A question, is this the version from Steam or from the Uber download page (uberlauncher.exe)? I have a thread on my problems with the Steam version and its obvious differences to the Uber version here: https://forums.uberent.com/threads/pa-uber-launcher-version-vs-steam-version-75740.66480/
Same problem here. I had crashes when I bought game over 6 months ago so I dropped the game. Now trying again and want to play galactic war. First fight I had was alright. Second I am getting crashes mid-through game the same as guy who made this thread. I have lowest settings which looks like garbage. I was able to run MAX SETTINGS with SupCom-FA with 8 players at once. I play KSP with no crashes which is a simulator and really demands system. Game basically freezes and I have to press enter for it to crash. I was actually getting LESS CRASHES 6 months ago in ai skirmish. Maybe the problem is galactic war? I will try AI Skirmish now but that is going to be a longer game and more units but I will give it a shot. Honestly probably will just go back to TA and SupCom with all the awesome mods it is still superior to this garbage. I can't believe I spent $60 for a non-working game that when patched results in even more problems than before. EDIT: Also deleting steam version and getting uber launcher etc I will post back if it fixes problem.
I think the problem is that you barely have any memory available. 4GB is really at the lower limit. It should however be enough for you to play AI Skirmish and GW and small multiplayer systems. I think the crashes are due to that fact that your page file is quite tiny in addition that. Could you try increasing your page file to 14GB or more and see if that helps?
Doing some testing on my hdds first to find which is fastest and put page file on it. Would a USB - SATA be ok or would a USB pen drive for page file be better? EDIT: set 7000 initial and 15000 max and installing game on different drive then page file and os and using uber official not steam ( nice to talk to friends but rather be able to play )
Install is taking forever it seems stuck on "Applying permissions"... Steam would have been done and installed it already. EDIT: Ok I guess it was downloading and not applying permissions. Seemed like it was a security issue because permissions to me is related to windows file permissions. @ uber you might want to fix the PA_Setup etc and have it correctly display what it is doing. I almost canceled it but I have patience.
Whichever is faster (as you are testing now). My guess would be SATA. I'm not entirely sure if it's a good idea to use an USB pen, as those tend to be formatted with FAT32 rather then NTFS, which means the maximum file size if only 4GB. Though you can reformat, I suppose. Also, I'm not sure how Windows would react if the USB is not plugged in on boot. This is a bit out of my league though, so I don't know how accurate this information is. By the way, it's likely that if it works for you with the larger page file, then it will work equally well on Steam as with the UberLauncher. The steam overlay is known to give trouble in rare cases every now and then, but the symptom for that is a black screen rather than a crash, if I remember correctly.
Install still isn't done. I went away from computer expecting to come back and have it finished. Photo included. Canceling it and restarting it.
