Hi fellow PA players. So my issue is ever since about a month or two ago I cannot play PA, I downloaded it for steam when it was still in it's beta stages last year, and it worked fine for me, even once the game released officially, still no problems, but then just out of nowhere in Novemberish 2014, it just stopped working for me. I click to play it via steam and it loads up just fine, but then if I try to play an AI skirmish or galactic war, it says "connection to server failed", and returns me to the menu. Now I checked my server status, and the server is on, but where it has the actual server box, it says "nothing selected" and it won't let me choose something else either. I opened up a ticket with Ubernet, and they helped me the best they could, and had me put my PA game files on my "allow" list for my PC security software, but still no change in my situation, so they suggested I come here to try to get help from you all. I have no mods of any kind on my game, it just doesn't want to work. If it's any help, I think it stopped working after one of the updates in November, but that may just be a coincidence. Please if anyone can help me out, I would very much appreciate it!!!!!!
It does kind of sounds like a firewall/virusscanner issue. Something seems to be blocking PA from accessing the network. Can you try (as a test) to completely shut off the firewall and virusscanner and see if that works?
So I shut off my firewall completely, tried playing it, and still have the same issue. Even though I am connected to the internet and have no problem getting on Youtube or whatever, I almost feel like it is a problem with a connection to the server, but I still don't have any idea about how to fix this. Any other suggestions??
Could you try bypassing Steam altogether and just use the UberLauncher from Uber itself? You can get it here: https://store.uberent.com/download/pa
