Hi, new to the game, haven't played it yet due to not been able to connect to server when starting a battle in single player. I've port forward as mentioned in other posts, and still no luck, I've discovered i can join a multiplayer game which considering i cant play single to get use to this game i see pointless at this point. Can anyone help. any suggestions? thank you.

When you play single player, PA will start a server locally on your computer (if you have more then 8GB of RAM). So it sounds like either the server is not starting locally, or something is interfering with the connection. Could you check the following list and see if you have anything on it on your computer? Specifically GameFirst III is known to be a serious cause of trouble.

Sadly still no luck, Only thing i had on that list was an Ad-blocker on my browser, turned off and still connection failed. guess this is something i don't get to fix unless someone else has any ideas, but thank you for the info.

In Settings > Server > Local Server what do you have selected; Auto, On, or Off?

Ive tried all of the above, kinda frustrating to be honest. Ive been watching this game and wanting it for a while and now feel a little let down. I know its 'Development' but been able to play is really a basic requirement.

So to reiterate you can join other multiplayer games but you cannot create your own games?
    That is very weird indeed.
    Two ideas:

    1. Try to start a server by hand. To do this go to your PA installation directory and somewhere within the x64 binary directory you can find a server.exe. Run a command line (shift-rightclick in tthe explorer) and run this command:
    server.exe --headless --game-mode Config --allow-lan --server-name "LOCAL GAME"

Now open PA normally and go to the game listing. There should be a game called "LOCAL GAME" there. If you join it the server in the command line should start to log a lot of things.

    2. This is a blind guess, but you could try to install PA Stats via https://forums.uberent.com/threads/pa-mod-manager-pamm-cross-platform.59992/ and then go to Settings > PA Stats > Enable ajax ubernet.
That is a workaround for another bug that usually makes people unable to join games and create them.
You can join games, so that is a bit weird, but it might be worth a try. If it does not help disable all mods again until the real issue is find, as having mods enabled while searching for causes of bugs is a bad idea, unless the mod tries to fix the bug.

    EDIT:
    Oh 3.:
PA Stats makes you see a few custom servers in the lobby. Those are empty servers hosted not by Uber but by community members. You could probably join those (try planet unfix) and add an AI to them to play vs AI single player. However after patches these servers often are not updated as fast.

ARRRRGGGHHHH!!!! Ok, none of that worked, but did discover that i have a hidden chrome.exe in roaming data due to 13 exe running in my processes, thats been deleted and dealt with but still no luck. So yeah, final try with a uninstall and reinstall and if no good then its a big FU PA

So the server did start and kept running while you tried to join it? It's just PA not connecting to it?

By the way, as a workaround you can go to settings -> server and turn local server off. That way you will still be able to do Galactic War and AI Skirmish. The game will then just use Uber's servers instead of the local server. The downside is that is will all take place on-line, so you will need to be connected to the Internet for the entire duration of the game.

So can you join the custom servers? I thought you can join custom games?

Do you use any antivirus or firewall programs? If so, what program(s) do you use?
