1) It should tell you what level is being played. Just put the map name somewhere. With all of the info on the screen (and none of it being the arena name) it's sometimes hard to know which arena is being played in. 2) It shouldn't try to connect you to a game in progress if of the the money balls has gotten its shield down. Let it find me another game. I get pretty mad when the other team is molesting the money ball, and there's nothing I can do about it save run out and die a few times. 3) Same as 2, but you won't choose that game if X minutes has gone by. (where X is the right number that saves on sanity).
Really? When I join a game in progress and my Moneyball is already down, the only thing in my mind is "I'm going to turn this fucker around right now." Nobody gets good from winning games. You only get better when you lose.
And when getting mugged in a dark alley I think "hey, this is a decent chance to work on my karate skills". You're right - I really do learn karate better when they beat me unconscious and run off with my money. It may as well just put me somewhere else, as 6 juiced guys on the MB isn't like "whee". For what it's worth - I do try to turn games around. I get irritated when it's obviously already over - and the only way to save from that frustration is to come up with some changes to how it connects a person to a game in progress. This weekend, I was connected to a game that was over within 10 seconds of connecting.
That's nothing; I once was in a game for 2 seconds before the game ended. It is annoying, but keep in mind that once that game ends you'll be in a lobby again to start a match from the beginning. I'd prefer being in a game for 30 seconds than starting in a game after 5 minutes have passed and you're disadvantaged. Also, it would probably be difficult for Uber to create a judging system on each game to determine which games are best for joining.
It already does judge, to an extent. For example, it seems to prefer lobbies over games in progress. By necessity it excludes "full" games. I'm just saying there could be some tighter conditions to pass up on a game, which doesn't sound unreasonable from a programming POV (I code, therefor I am!). Some really easy checks may be to see if one of the MBs has gone down, or if the game timer is past X minutes. There will still be times when the MB comes down just after you get connected, but fewer of them - and when it happens, those are going to be better "turn this **** around" opportunities.
That's what karate is used for, and there really isn't any better time to work on it. Get to quick chopping. If there are six juicers on MB when you come into a game, chances are one good player wasn't going to make the difference anyway. The game ends in ten seconds and back to the lobby you go. I fail to see the problem.
