Frustratingly enough, my PC has decided to power off instantly just after it download all the packages for the update. Its not as if it just shuts down either, its just an instantanious power off and then the only way to turn it back on is to disconect it for a bit and then plug it back it. Any ideas? Thanks Alistair
Overheating CPU. Have you ever cleaned the dust out? Has it recently taken a knock, or been hotter than previously? Or any big thunderstorms recently/power outages?
Hardware damage maybe, try memtest86 and test your memory for errors - http://www.memtest.org/#downiso This machine that is playing up a desktop or laptop? This machine a new build? Has the machine been moved recently e.g. state/house move? Your at a stage where we must test everything to rule out as the fault.
