Commitee of Tournament Officials

So I want to make a general idea known that I have. Which is weekly large scale tournaments. To do this we need a group of dedicated individuals willing to Direct them, Officiate and referee them, Cast and Commentate them, Publicising them. Let's get a ground work for competition to grow and be full ready for launch and a surge into eSports!

My dream is for tournaments to be hosted and be handled by these individuals that they flow amazingly every time.

The end product of forming a group of these tournament nutts is to make all the community love to play and watch the games. FOR ALL SKILL LEVELS. Tournaments that are high level showcases can be brackets but I solidly believe swiss style tournaments are something that should be done for general level tournaments.

I would be more interested in a single weekly Monday Night Annihilation game that we can all enjoy watching together. I think weekly tournaments will just lead to information overload and indifference as people stop being able to keep up. Monday Night Annihilation can even have whole seasons with playoffs and an Uberbowl!

Well, I'd say "Yes" as long as we make sure that it is more inclusive than exclusive.

We don't want to be organized at the expense of people being left out. If we do a "closed shop" act then we're killing people's opportunities. While I believe that we do need trusted people to officiate tournaments, I would like to see casters welcomed in with open arms.

What i want is that if you want to become a tournament official you just become one, its all volunteer work after all. none of make a profit from this. Directors and the refs are the more important role that needs slightly more experience

As do I. I am very interested in this and I'd love to see it come to fruition. I just wanted give the "Open and honest" speech before we got to far into this.

I think this sounds like a great idea. Nice initiative.

However, the way my life looks right now i have difficulties predicting when i have time over and not so unfortunately i can not give more support than that.

Also the only concern i have about this i a small one, but i think it would be good to start this when there is a demand for it in the community so people will play and officiate in something everybody is looking forward to. I for one am not playing too serious now and more or less waiting for patches and release.
Maybe that's just me though, i can't really tell. I like the idea and i like to see it grow and bloom, and not wither and die because it was brought up prematurely, that's all.

I could see myself refereeing as well as casting. Never casted before but that's never stopped me from doing anything.

I really think we need to just get some motion to get going but once we make a committee of players that want to help out we can keep adding people to it and make it a very good group of people all helping one another out.

GPGnet had daily tournaments with 10 to 20 people back when it was active.
The more the better.

All we need is an ELO rating system for PA players. After that implementation, leagues and divisions could be formed.

Once more games are put into PAstats the more accurate it will get. all the top players in the world have already taken the top but the rest of the field has really not settled out into there areas yet. once it does it will make it alot easier for making skill brackets and doing divisions
