There's a pretty big bug that drives me crazy. Commanders have a hard time hitting bots – that are standing still. If a bot is standing still in front of the Commander, the Commander shoots to the side and behind of the bot, completely missing it. A single dox that stands still in front of the commander can kill it without getting hit. I almost lost my commander earlier to a group of doxes that were standing still because the Commander kept on missing them. Drives me nuts.
This happens to me often too! Usually when dox is standing on terrain slightly lower than the commander. It can be very hard to tell the minor height difference's in the terrain and when a unit sits in a divot or dip in the map it can be unhittable by some units. ---edited--- Moving the commander or units that cant hit the unit in the dip or in an un hittable spot to different area then attacking usually solves this , but add's a ton of extra micro management to something that should have an auto path finding layer attached to it, in the old TA moho engine a unit would traverse terrain or move to a better spot to get the right distance and or height for attacking (usually manual attack orders are given).
This has been a bug since the start of alpha, and its crazy they have not fixed it yet. But there are a few more issues that have been present since start of alpha that have not been fixed yet (they will be soon supposedly)
Yeah. It's been around for a while and has irked me for a while. I got really frustrated with my match from yesterday where 7 bots that were standing still nearly killed my commander, even when my commander was moving around.
I think it may have to do with the targeting 'possibly' coming from the center of the unit rather than the firing point (ie: the arm).
Ergh. Guess it's just a problem with hitting small targets then. That's annoying. Really hope Uber fixes it soon. Not like they have enough on their plate though.
