commander ideas

    Is there any chance that there could be transforming commanders ie: has robot mode and a flying mode flying is more mobile but cannot build and can only attack air units and ground mode is a regular commander? but this will be at the expense of reduced robot mobility or less overall health or damage and possibly both? is this a good idea?

    You do not really make coherent and understandable sentences so it's quite hard to understand.

    The commander at heart is a unit that builds stuff, is expensive to loose and if needed can do a bit of fighting. I think tons of extras only detracts from the rest of the game. If the devs have to spend an hour to rig a transforming commander, it's an hour they could've used on a non-transforming different commander, like a Threaded or Quadrupedal commander.

    the point isnt to make it a combat unit it is to give it moire mobility so it is easier to get your commander out and it would ad a interesting mechanic and make a commander chouce interesting (btw that is surprisingly short for rigging a commander

    Well I am having trouble getting excited about this idea. There is nothing technically wrong with it. I am just not that excited about seeing it in the game.

    No one has complained yet, you had 17 people contribute via your poll.

    The problem isn't even your idea(we'll get to that later) but the fact it's presented very poorly, seemingly little consideration beyond "zomg cool" and your 'insistence' on receiving feedback isn't really well looked upon.

    You want quality feedback, you gotta put the effort in first! You ramble on for 3 sentences about an idea, ask for feedback and provide a Poll, The poll was a big mistake, it's the "easy way out" compared to typing a reply.

    Anyways, on to the Idea, have you thought about how it would affect gameplay?

    There needs to be rule where proper grammar and accurate spelling is enforced in the OP's first post. Bad grammar hurts my brain.

    Any who, I digress. Personally, I don't really think that have "transformers" would be, well, very exciting.

    It kind of reminds me of those japanese mechs from Red Alert or the terran transforming mechs. I don't really like transforming units. Maybe it's because im an engineer and i feel like it's much better to strap a jetpack to a unit for that extra mobility or just keep it in the air in the first place.

    What i like for example is the reapers from starcraft: they have jetpacks that allow them to easily traverse terrain.

    So yea, do i want a commander with a jetpack? sure. do i want transforming commander? nope.

    I did and i explained in the regular commander mode you would have less mobility and less damage overall aswell as health so it would be balanced the point of the idea is to open another path early game and mid game and opens some new paths for 2v2 and 1v1

    That't outlining it's capabilities, not going deeper and trying to think how those capabilities affect the way the commander interacts with everything else.

    the commander would be like a regular commander in land mode but with reduced mobility and overall health and damage it would be the same size as other average commanders and the flying is to increase its mobility it would interact the same in land mode but cannot build or attack in flight mode

    Again, that's just listing off it's capabilities, how does it interact differently with tank blobs, air units, the terrain itself, other commanders......There's a lot more to it.

    it would work similar to the viking in sc2 except air mode cannot attack commander mode will work just like any other commander fly mode will work like any other plane except it wont attack so it will require less work because all they have to do is take the commander rig and a plane rig and make a transformation animation

    not sure if someone said this but this is the exact idea from "airmech" but i agree this would add a whole new aspect to the game cause in SupCom2 you can fly but you lose the commander body :p i would want a transforming commander to escape(i do that a lot lol) also flying would allow in theory to go into space so i would love this.

    Thank you you get the point except not space you will still have to do that conventionally
