Hey all. I'm going to preface my post by saying that I looked through the Backer forum for the first few pages, I didn't see my question get asked. I know it's some huge internet faux pas to ask a question before you've searched, so I've done the due diligence before consulting the Internet Oracles with my problems. Anyway, as I passed my extra Beta key to my little brother and we started playing together, I noticed that he had access to both of the available commanders. Now IIRC, the commander that we were using in the Alpha was the Delta commander, because he was the most finished unit at the time. Now, it makes sense that we (alpha players) would get that commander, he comes with the editions of the game that got alpha access, and the beta too... I think. In some editions, anyway. Steam's package doesn't include the delta commander, and anyone who bought the Warfare edition gets in on the beta, but doesn't get the Delta. Now, as Beta rolls around, the alpha commander came with it. My little brother has access to both commanders, just like I do. However, all he has tied to his account is his beta key. My question is: does he get to keep these two commanders? To elaborate, he's got a beta key that I purchased while finalizing my kickstarter pledge. Or something like that. IIRC, I bought the $90 edition, then when finalizing that I bumped up to $140, and then additionally purchased an extra beta key for him. I'm wondering if my little brother is benefiting from his beta key being a part of my kickstarter/preorder purchase, or if everyone currently in on the Beta gets both commanders. My gut tells me that we're just using the units they've finished, and they're going to lock off these commanders and start doing all that exclusivity nonsense later. I just wanted an official yay-or-nay on the matter, I'm asking out of curiosity rather than some deranged obsession with exclusivity and backer entitlement. There's not much of a way to tell what's going on with keys and commander access from my end, so I just thought I'd ask since no one else seems to have done so yet. Since I'm here, I'd like to add that the beta is amazing. I'm loving it, my little brother's loving it, and we've already crashed the game a few times with our huge, 5-hour long galactic deathmatches. I'm actually pretty glad that we have two commanders to use, it allows him to use Alpha while I use Delta, or vice versa. As I said before, I'm just asking out of curiosity if he's going to lose access to these commanders later.
Alpha and Delta are available to all because those are the only Functional Commanders. On release or further into Beta as more options become available the permissions will be fixed for everything. Mike
