Well, we managed to convince another friend to do a 3 player FFA, and we thought the PTE was generally pretty cool. A lot of good steps in the right direction, and the subs and new naval roles really spice up naval play. @stuart98 I'm curious to know what you don't like about the subs as they are, we didn't test extensively, but thought they were pretty good. And I don't see how we could find broken stuff if you are already fixing stuff before we've had the opportunity to see what's broken.
I think the main complaint against the new subs implementation is they are the *best* naval to naval combat unit bar none. That kinda makes naval a case of 1: Build Subs, 2: Build more subs, 3: Win... Having said that I haven't really tried it enough to say for sure.
my biggest issue with subs is how they stack on each other and then die to aoe hard. Makes the whole thing kinda volatile and you lose even though you have more subs than your oppoent.
The fact that there's a non-stealth submarine. The might as well add legless bots and treadles tanks after. THE FREAKING POINT OF SUBMARINES IS THAT THEY WERE ABLE TO APPROACH UNSEEN AND ATTACK UNDERWATER. Otherwise you might as well use a boat. It (should be) better than submarine and cheaper.
