Well, before i say anything i would like to point out i am not complaining and i love this game and alpha has been amazing so far, but last night i had the UI crash on me 3 times, f5 doesn't work to reload it unless the UI hasn't crashed by the way, so my question to the devs is have you found any specific reasons why the UI is crashing or is it random?
Try getting your DirectX up to date. Because CoherentUI uses DirectX, which kinda sucks but it's the best we have right now.
is there an update tool i should use? i know i have dx11 but im not sure which version, would a dxdiag help?
I mean your drivers I don't think you can update the DirectX firmware on your graphics card, but I may be wrong. Just search for Geforce/Radeon drivers depending on what card you have, the website explains driver updates pretty well. I think Nvidia also has a tool for gamers that allows them to update their drivers automatically based on what card they have, but it's a bit over-the-top. Edit: Uber is also in the process of transferring most of their UI code from C++ to Javascript in order to promote modding, however this has resulted in a lot of instability in the UI. This results in the UI exploding quite frequently.
I believe I have the latest drivers, I will check, and thanks for the info about transferring from c++ to j's, it gives me some peace of mind that uber knows what's going on.
No. It is a problem in the office as well. Coherent is still in development and I suspect the problem will go away when our program is more stable. So it is a known problem and hopefully it will get fixed.
I posted about this in a couple other threads before I saw this one so my bad. And ya this bug is the worst since it basically ends the game
Yes the dreaded 'coherent has stopped working' in late game is bad news. Unfortunately you can't use chat either, so you just have to disconnect. The reconnection is a godsend though - but often you're dead by the time you rejoin
