I run one of the dedicated MNC servers (Mickey Cantor's __________) . Looking for some feedback on map selection, time duration, OT, and class limits. Currently I'm looking at limiting each class to 3 per side. This means, you won't have 4 snipers on one team. Could go further in limiting them to 2 snipers/assassins per side, but probably wouldn't sit well with new players. Duration is 25 minutes, 3 OT. Map selection is all maps except spunkycola.
I personally find the Spunky Cola arena really fun... And I say 2 Assassin, 2 Sniper, the rest at 3. Having more than 2 of either sniper or assassin on a team is so debillitating. Especially if they're bad. You'd be better off having less people because the baddies are just feeding the enemies.
Does anyone know if the class limits actually works? I set 2 each sniper/assassin, and had 3 snipers on my team.
2 Snipers, 2 Assassins, 3 everything else. I'd say 1 Sniper, 1 Assassin, but those are the classes that attract both newbies and lethally good players, and you don't want to keep out the good player just because some idiot took up the slot to slash walls.
Since class limits don't function correctly, I guess it's moot until they work. Meh. I like 1 Assassin/1 Sniper idea though, so thank you.
I'll be honest, I think it's better 1 sniper/2 assassins. Assassins have some of the most important jobs: destroying bots/turrets and killing those annoying, stealthy players. I know that they are misused by most nooby players, but I really believe that a team could be very effective with 2 assassins. Heck, tbh, I'd rather have an 2 assassins on my team than two supports..
It's rare I'll come across the SUPPORT class that does what he's supposed to. They're such an awesome class too..
I'm a nooby player and i misuse my assassin quite well I've seen a team with 3 assassins dominate, and seen a team with 3 assassins get rocked hard, but honestly, i would say the 1 assassin 1 sniper rule, simply because there i don't think theres anything an assassin can do, save pushing bots, that would be more beneficial to the team than having an extra assault, gunner, tank or support. its kinda like the inverse law of the ninja, one ninja is awesome, but a group get slaughtered, the more assassins you have, the more the other team is prepared to take them, and at a point, they start becoming a liability.
Yeah... more than 2 Assassins tends to be detrimental for any team I'm on. Two Assassins are great though, especially if they're good players and work together to push lanes/destroy turrets/assassinate Pros. I once walked into a game with five Assassins on my team, and no surprise, they all sucked and were losing horribly.
