Seems fun. Something to put at the end of a game, possibly the beginning of a game.

When a player lands, it could show a closer moving-camera hudless 30-second clip of them landing on planet surface.

When the game is over, it should show a clip of the win. If it is through a commander death, it should show a clip of the commander being beaten. If it is from small arms fire, it should show him taking shots while he returns fire and eventually falling and exploding. If it is through a large meteor strike or something, it should show the meteor hitting him and his explosion pulsing up through the meteor itself and his pieces spewing from it's center like a volcano through the meteor.

If the victory conditions are something else, it should show a clip representing it. Whether a preset cinematic that is cool, or a hudless-camera-zoom-and-track on what's going on.

    Thoughts?

Wouldn't mind seeing an in-game cinematic, (part of the loading screen mayhaps?) before the start of the game, of my Commander landing with his Egg.
Not high priority. But it's in the "would be nice" pile of ideas.

See, I can be nice. :p

So you mean I have to connect, load the game, THEN watch a 30 second clip(which I assume will be the same every time or at least boring after the first few times) and only THEN I get to play?

    No thanks.

Mask the loading screen with it would be my idea of making it viable. Otherwise, yea... don't use unskippable cinematics.

Galactic war start and end videos, that is all.

I want a little attack cinematic every time one unit fires on another, like in Shining Force, Fire Emblem, Advance Wars, etc.

I can totally see this on a match with nothing but Peewee-like KBots and both players starting on a metal planet.

"412939 attacks queued up, generating cinematic attack scenes."

I'd rather not have cinematics repeat at the beginning and end of each match. Although I will say if they have a cinematic at game start play out as a cover for the loading screen I'd be happy with that.

I am a sucker for cinematic clips (say an intro which plays when you fire up the game for the first time and accessible from the menu from there on) But I don't want to have something

A: Forced on me that I cannot skip prior to gameplay.

B: Something that I have to skip EVERY time I want to get to the gameplay.

Those are turn based games, PA is not.

Instant replay of commander death at the end of an assassination match.

Like in holywood movies where they repeat a dramatic explosion from every single camera angle possible.

That was a joke. I can't think of anybody in their right mind who would want that "feature" in an RTS. (I don't really even like them in TBS games, to tell the truth.)

If this is implemented it should be toggleable.

I'm surprised anyone took you seriously, but I guess such is the nature of the internet.

We're in a thread that requests more annoying cinematics in the first place. It's not weird.
