The chat module is plagued with user accessibility issues. I don't know how much you can manipulate the default Unreal chat console but something has to be done because this is really hurting the game.

    1. You cannot access chat controls when you are dead. This is incredibly bad. There is no way to contact your team until you spawn again.

    2. Additionally, you cannot send a message at the end of the round either. As soon as win/lose is announced, chat just doesn't show up.

    3. If you open the chat box, you have to press Esc two times to close it (once to clear the say and a second time to close the box). Normally, you should only have to press it once.

    4. While writing a message, if the mouse is over a GUI element, pressing space will cause that element to trigger (normally while in lobby when you don't want it too).

    5. The only way to see past messages is via the console (~).

    6. Messages don't appear for very long, normally displaying for about 10 seconds or so (or until you die). 30 seconds or so would be nice.

It would be great if these could be addressed.

So glad I'm not the only one who thinks it's silly to have to press ESC multiple times to back out of chat.

Also, I've had the game hang on me at least once when I had a chat box open when the map loaded in. Game never let me select a Pro or start the match. Had to CTRL-ALT-DEL and kill the task.

I think some of your issues might be caused by having AntiAliasing forced on. I also couldn't see any text in the lobby and round-over text boxes, but once I turned AA off (to application controlled) in my nVidia control panel, it started showing up. AA on also prevents several other GUI/HUD elements from appearing, such as the endorsements of an enemy that kills you.

I do have several issues though, some of which line up with yours.

    1. The character limit is far too small. I usually can't get out a full sentence before it stops me. Using "say" in the console gets around this for now..

    2. Occasionally in the lobby, things I type just won't show up. I still see them in the (~) console, but not in the normal chat box. I'm not sure if other people see them or not..

    3. Pressing ESC 3 times to cancel chat is pretty ridiculous
