Changes to leaderboards

Hey all,

We are making adjustments to leaderboards based on feedback and general tweaks we've been wanting to get in. This will adjust ratings to make higher levels harder to get in. You may see yourself fall a rank from this, so wanted to give a heads up.

This should go live today or tomorrow.

Soo when are you going to give us the magic and secretive algorithm behind the rankings? Would like to know how ranking is counted. If we get to know this we can also give you guys feedback on that.

It was posted somewhere that is a modifed glicko.

So I take it this now implemented, since I'm no longer plat 1?

I made this live now. The new ranks are, as of right now:

Uber: 36 players
Platinum: 87 players
Gold: 206 players
Silver: 399 players
Bronze: 132 players

The distribution still functions in the same way, but the thresholds for Uber, Platinum, and Gold have all been moved up.

I dropped from uber to platinum It's sad... so sad... it's a sad sad situation...

Don't compare Uber to platinum Well, what can I say, it was one nice day of being at UBER LVL. I just got it yesterday...

I just went from almost top 10 to middle Uber. Now I need to play more games.

I don't think the ranks actually changed, my position within Uber has not changed at all in fact.

This is correct. If you were in Uber, your position would've remained the same if you're still in Uber. If you were below Uber, you got bumped down (either bumped down leagues or bumped down in ranks.)

Yeah. #15 used to feel so much better before. Now I have to worry about losing my Uber badge.

I like how people are already like 'no I got demoted so I need to play more games' So far, working exactly as I had hoped. People have incentive to ladder again.

I get the sentiment, but

Problem is, I have been getting bored on ranked because the skill of players has stagnated. I am on a win streak of 70 I believe, which is fun for a while but I still need a challenge. I am thinking of streaming again and focusing on teaching people so hopefully the scene will become more competitive. Especially now that these big sales are going on. Would anyone be interested in such a stream?

Team ranked 2v2... Uber plz?
