The multiplayer button used to be named "play" I think, or something similar. You only need to look at Steam or Reddit to see the confusion the current button causes where people can't figure out how to skirmish, because they don't want multiplayer, they want skirmish and over a decade of RTSs have taught people that skirmish is its own thing. The name is misleading and should be changed.
I think we might need to go into something more in-depth, in particular with the idea of Offline play once the game is released. Mike
I always assumed we'd get the usual options like single and multiplayer, skirmish (there were there in beta but greyed out IIRC) once they become available.
Yeah but there is a unique catch with the server based setup in PA is that there are more variants of those options to consider. Mike
Rename it to play for now. I have seen first hand the confusion this causes. Paraphrasing: "How can you build everything from the start, I can only build land"
We really need this. The Steam forum is full of people that have tried GW and are disappointed that they can't play against the AI with every tech unlocked. There is really no reason to think you need to look in multiplayer in order to play against the AI.
