Hi, PA is starting to shape really nicely, lots of great ideas. However, what about tactical missiles and defense? At the moment one can almost prevent the enemy army from far afar before they manage to get to attack range with some tactical missiles, catapult I think it was. They home straight to units almost too nicely. Also attacking enemy base with these missiles is all too easy if you manage to build them in range fast enough. So, any news about missile defense? Like supcom style, also how about mobile units with defense chance? Air also seems to be wip at the moment, but will improve a lot in future updates. All bombers shoot same projectiles, maybe some variation like carpet bombs and so on? Keep up a good work!
For the price of a single catapult you could send in 37 t1 bots to soak up the fire and let your forces get past the catapult(s) unharmed. Catapults are good for keeping people from getting too close but are very slow to make progress by creeping towards someone's base and essentially are useless against large groups of units. Holkins will be more effective against large groups of units. The range isn't very big so if you allow your opponent to build very expensive catapults very close to your base then you've already lost.
Hmmyeah, I mostly use Catapults as part of a forward defense outpost. Four Catapults, two Holkins, a row of Pelters and laser turrets before them centered around an aNuke make a nice hurdle. Well, and gives the engies something to do except watching bots march by...
Catapults on their own are far from overpowered, but in combination with turrets, pelters and AA catapults can become very cost efficient.
