Or reduce it entirely. Tank and Gunner have apparently a quite wide melee arc compared to other classes. Not sure if that's true, but I hit multiple bots much more often with him. This makes juice very, very easy to make. Bots give quite a lot of juice if you're willing to strike them with melee. It's also a very reliable source and when you hit multiple bots the income is pretty crazy. It's so easy to make juice using melee, in fact, I just got permabanned from the 24/7 Spunky Cola server for what I can only assume was "haxx0rs". I was literally gaining juice faster than I was as a sniper with explosive shot. That's.... pretty fast. Apparently you get juice for every bot you hit with melee. Perhaps it should be capped to a maximum of one "melee unit" of juice per melee strike, so hitting melee in a group of 5 blackjacks won't net you juice 5 separate times, only the one. Furthermore, you could probably limit the amount of juice exploding shot will net the sniper, as well. It is pretty damn fast, as well. By the way, TehCount and Clayton Bigsby - If you're reading this, Admiral Gilles is sorry for helping newbies on your server and meleeing bots to death. Unfortunately, I wasn't using cheats of any form. Perhaps if you could accept my friend invite we could work out exactly what happened today.
That's also something I'd like to see, as noted in the OP. Capping the juice gain that someone can gain in one action would be a feasible measure, would it not? Simply make it so that if a sniper hit a group of 20 bots with his explosive shot in spunky cola near the cluster in the center, instead of getting practically half a juice bar, give him like 10%ish of his juice bar and drop the rest. Although, the sniper is such a squishy fellow that his fast juice build is an interesting mechanic to toy with. The fact that his juice isn't too effective against turrets compared to other pros makes his rapid juice gain much less threatening compared to, say, a gunner or tank which can destroy several turrets in the course of one juice. On top of that, most snipers use their juice to run into the enemy base with flak and SMG willy nilly. Combine the fact that he walks fairly slow and his SMG is wildly inaccurate outside of close range, and he cannot dodge attacks very well whatsoever, he's not particularly difficult to crush. Quickscoping can change and break some aspects of this, but for the most part it's not the most threatening juiced character to either pros (since most will be able to stay out of his range once they hear the juice roar if they're smart) and especially to turrets. Unjuiced flak will do more damage than juiced SMG spam. I'm aware of the fact that he has a VAC ban on record and that he's only able to play that server because his friend, the actual admin, intentionally removed his network ID from his server banlist, but from what I observed he wasn't actually cheating during this session, probably because actually cheating would empty out his friend's and his only accessible server faster than you can type killserver.
are you sure your talking about the sniper? i mean he does have the same speed as an assassin i think if not, he is definitely one of the fastest classes
assassin and sniper are tied for fastest speed at 650 assault and support are next with 600 gunner is second to last at 550 tank is last at 500
^ yeah, but then you have skills coming into play, so the actual mobility ranks are like this: assassin - best assault sniper tank support gunner - worst
Hard to compare actual net mobility. Things like jumpjets, skills, actual speed... factoring it all into a average speed combined with accessibility to heights... I'd say its more like... Assault/Assassin Tank/Sniper Gunner/Support I'd put them in those ranks, with the ones on the left being slightly better at their rank, than the one on the right, if vertical travel is important in the map, and backwards if it isn't important to that map. Sniper definitely isn't top, nor is he slow.
