Can't bind keyboard keys

I've been trying to bind keyboard keys using a key plus ctrl, but the game doesn't register them. I can input single keys, like A,S etc., but when i try to bind ctrl+A the game doesn't recognize it. Am i doing something wrong?

Perhaps due to case sensitivity? Try ctrl+a.

You have to actually type "ctrl"

this realy needs to be changed as i don´t know how to bind certain keys ... some currently don´t even seem to work ...
for instance binding plus to smooth zoom in didn´t work ...
i like to ask to change keybinding to the way of what keys or keycombinations we are pressing ... and not typing them in ... it feels clunky and is irritating ...
