Cannot delete a galactic war (the abandon button doesn't respond)
Is it possible to do this manually, such as editing text files or deleting files?

    No. Well, not easily anyway.

However, you can always resume the galactic war and just "Surrender" or select your commander and pressing <Del>.

So, what is the not easy way?

I currently have a moderately large number of wars I'd like to abandon and find it frustrating to have to actually load a game to the system level to delete the campaign.

    Thanks!

This should still work, I think:

Be careful to pick the right numbers of course. :)
You may want to back up the PA settings dir first, which you can find here:
    Windows: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Uber Entertainment\Planetary Annihilation
On a typical install %LOCALAPPDATA% will be C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local
    OSX: ~/Library/Application Support/Uber Entertainment/Planetary Annihilation
    Linux: ~/.local/Uber Entertainment/Planetary Annihilation

In case anyone else is looking for this option also, this did work for me. Only issue was that the open console button was not mapped in my game, I don't think I've been in options before, so it may be a default unbound key.

Thank you for your help! I think of your avatar whenever I see a commander firing the ubercannon, although maybe the metal planet laser would be a better comparison.
