I was lucky enough to be blessed with MNC early and asked to review the game for RunDLC. It's my first ever review but hopefully does a good job of giving enough solid info on the game with enough of my personal opinions to help people decide whether to spend the 1200 points (they should of course). I'd really value some feedback from the community here on how I did so I can improve my skills in such matters. You can find the article here: http://n4g.com/news/583080/monday-night ... iew-rundlc Not to spoil it, but I was completely won over by the game and will be coming back to it for a long time yet. Be sure to let me know what you think and thanks in advance. Gamertag - heat burns
Not a bad review. You might have wanted to use the word stylized though, instead of referencing TF2 twice. But I'm just nitpicking. Can't say I could have written anything better. Good work. :geek:
The nitpicking is completely welcome and will teach me to watch out for such things in future pieces. You're right on that point and I could should have spotted it. I had loads more I wanted to include originally but it already runs on a bit. Having it the day before release meant that there were about 3-4 Uber staff in each game which was a complete pleasure to experience. A very friendly and welcoming bunch they were. Knowing that Azo was assasinating you with a move that he designed and animated made it that little bit more bearable. I originally wanted to include some of the experiences with them in the review but that's probably more preview territory. I've yet to do one of those yet. Thanks for being the first to have a look and reply!
But how do I stay unbiased when the Uber devs were so damn nice and kept inviting me round for a fry up? My morals are dubious at the best of times. Once you add bacon into the mixture my conscience is left out of any decisions made. I'll try and do what you ask of me though and will not accept bribes or underhand methods of persuasion. Unless they're are really big bribes of course!
Just as your Basic Tips article, this was written well too. Although, for a review, it did feel a bit wordy (for my taste at least). I usually like my reviews short --although yours is short as is-- and concise. Not really much I can say in a way that would help you, other than just to mention it.
Thanks for another reply Screwbeck. I really appreciate you taking the time to read the pieces in the first place. I did run into problems trying to squueze it all in for this review. The editor actually took a few bits out, so it was originally even longer too so he may have done me a favour. I definitely need to become more concise and, like you said, a little a less wordy. Thank you to anyone who manages to read it and let's me know what you think, even if you hated it. All I ask is that you try and say why you thought what you did so that I can keep doing the good and eject the bad (see what I did there?). England sleep time now though. Will check back in the morning.
