Building Metal Extractors Everywhere - Optional Game Mode?

    I know that requiring metal extractors to build on metal spots hasn't been activated yet, but I have to admit that to a certain degree, I've enjoyed being able to build metal extractors all willy-nilly.

    One of the things I loved about TA was the CORE planets - they were great for relatively fast games, as you could quickly scale up your economy and get massive battles going within 10-15 minutes.

    While I know that metal planets are making a comeback as something different, would it be possible to have an optional game mode that simply didn't have metal spots enabled, like they are now? It's allowed me to play matches when I don't have a lot of time to get a big game going - and that has enabled me to test the game more than I otherwise could.

    I apologize if this topic has been posted before, a forums search didn't find anything for me. I also apologize if this is the wrong forum - I couldn't decide whether this or general discussion was more appropriate.

    Metal Planets?

    Edit: Sorry, reread what you meant.

    I think metal planets are sufficient for this play style. Having a seperate option for this functionality on other biomes is really just redundant.

    What I'm hoping to see is metal planets being fully customizable in the planet creator. Set up solar systems for 4 player games with a large 3000m base planet everyone starts on, but then a couple of other planets/moons, then small ~400 meter 'metal astroids' to fight over.

    So its not going to be one or the other like in TA, where the whole map is all metal or metal points. We can have mixed games where you have metal bodies to fight over (or allow opponents to overcommit to capture one and swoop in at their base while they are distracted).

    This game has so much potential.

    Maybe.

    But don't worry, I would bet this will be a Mod almost as soon as Modding is fully enabled, people love that kind of Eco mod, just like the 2x Resources mod for SupCom/FA.

    This functionality could perhaps be met by some broader settings like metal per metal deposit, and metal collection multiplier. You could play with those so a couple of extractors set you up for the whole game.

    I agree it'd be cool to be able to play without metal constraints sometimes, but still enjoy other biomes than the metal one.

    I'm sure you'll be able to specify metal planets only in the planet generation settings.

    This would be great in some kind of sandbox mode, even as an option!
