Builder units don't show any building option

Has anyone experienced the same?

My builders (either bots, tanks or planes) have no building abilities.
Only a stump of template shows at the bottom of the game screen when I right click them.
If I assign them to building started by the commander, tehey finish building okay but apart from that they're bloody useless XD
