How brilliant would it be if you could create your own class from scratch. The idea being everyones skills, guns, grabs, would be available. These would all cost a set $ based on their use in the game. You would have a fixed $ to spend on your custom build to make it all fair.
So I could be a Support Class but change my shotgun into a Sniper Rifle? Far too broken and would be far too hard to balance out.
No. Not only does it defeat the purpose of class roles, but certain skills are only given to certain classes for a reason. I'll play with a Sniper Rifle and the Slam, Trap, and Firebase abilities kthnxbai.
If each weapon selection, skill, etc. cost a certain amount of money, it could be balanced in a way that you could not do that.
I think it would be possible to balance something like that. Just give the classes certain strength and weaknesses with certain weapons: *Assassin is fast but has trouble with heavy weapons -> SMG, light shotgun, shuriken *Support can't hit a thing with heavy weapons -> SMG, shotgun, assault rifle *Gunner is bad with slow firing weapons -> minigun, assault rifle, SMG ... I would prefer to see different kind of weapons or weapon upgrades though: weapon mods for increased firerate, precision, range, tracer rounds that can set the target on fire, hollow-point ammo that slows enemies down, HE ammo with AoE damage but no criticals, smoke grenades to hide, flares to reveal stealth, WP grenades to block areas for a few seconds... So many possibilities...
Thats interesting, the option to upgrade your weapons with an additional firepower endorsment! You could have a +- for each choice to always balance them out
If they made it its own game mode ( Custom Crossfire) and made it so you couldn't gain money or protags then it wouldn't matter how balanced it was. I think there would be animation problems though.
And let's also sy pointless unconstructive negative comments to an idea. It's an idea for that reason only, all I was doing was putting a suggestion out there. I fully welcome constuctive criticism but thesis not.
Custom Classes would still be classes. Besides, if that's all it takes to ruin a good game, it's not "perfectly good."
That last sentence is obviously nonsense. Some things are not meant to be put in the same class. What you are saying is "This game is not perfectly good, because if you change this, then it is no longer perfectly good...." That's like saying: "This bacon-sandwich is not very delicious, cause when i add this much salt to it, it is no longer that delicious". And obviously that is not true, apart from the fact that a bacon-sandwich is always delicious!
